Mark my words. ME 3 will start with Shepard and his loyal crew on the run from everybody: the Council, the Alliance, Cerberus. Then the Reapers will show up.
I can understand Cerberus (provided you blew up the base), but why would he/she be on the run from the Alliance and Council though?

I have a feeling he thinks socialism and communism are the same...
I think so too.
Anyway, on topic: I think it will be interesting to see how the Council reacts, as they have practically convinced the public that the Reapers don't exist, and with Harbinger coming, I will be very interested to see how they deal with the public reaction.

Frankly, I've just about reached my patience with the Council. My paragon Shepards who went outta their way to save their skins are thinking of giving the Council the **** and hand the Collector base to Ceberus. If the other Council races insist on being idiots, I rather have Ceberus run the show.
Speaking of Cerberus, why does Cerberus believe you?

The Council will have to when thousands of Reapers turn violently towards the Local Cluster.
Yeah, for some reason I feel the final battle will take place at Earth as well.

The Council because he's a dangerous and — to their minds — deranged agent gone rogue on a very powerful ship.
The Alliance because they're part of the Council now.
And Kaidan/Ashley is the second human Spectre, sent to track you down.
Or not.

I'd much rather it took place in the Council chamber with the Turian councillor screaming "Mummy, help, the Reapers are here!".

They could not remake humanity in their image, so they will break them and in doing so break the only race among those living that has yet defeated their plans.

A Second spectre to track Shep down? THAT would be an interesting twist. I could see it happening - afterall, Ash/Kai served with Shepard, knows him/her very well, and how he/she works. Maybe a mini-fight ensues before Shepard is able to stop things and win Ash/Kai over?

It makes sense - the end of ME2 makes it clear that humans, in particular, are of interest to someone "infinitely their superior." - Earth probably will still have the highest concentration of human residents, so...

The Council has always disbelieved the Reaper theory. Do you think they will become convinced in ME3 or will Shepard save the galaxy without their help while the Council still thinks it was just vivid imagination?
No.
Actually, yes, they will eventually believe Shepard, about 10 minutes before it'd be too late to do anything about the Reapers. I'd just think it'd be funny as hell if the Reapers showed up and the council still thought it was some kind of trick.
"We are the vanguard of your destruction"
"Go away, we aren't falling for this Shepard"
".....No, really, we are"
"Nice try Shepard, but you'll need to do better than these so called 'Reapers' *Turian finger quotes*"

"Sir, sir, hundreds of those husks from the Geth attack are swamping their way through the Citadel - we also have emergency S.O.S 's from a dozen core worlds begging for help as they are under attack by Reapers."
"Nice try Shepard, but I can see through that rubber mask."
"Sir?"
"The state of your mind must be pretty far gone, Commander, for you to think this is funny."

That's also because the Council are racist pricks who want to see humans dead anyhow so they don't mind seeing Earth receiving a welcoming party from the Reapers. Though the welcoming party isn't so much of a party as it is an evil giant enema.
Oh, also because reapers are mean people who were not loved by mommies and daddies and are pained to see humans having mommies and daddies, therefor all life must die. Painfully. PEW PEW PEW LAZORZ...

Oooh, the idea of Kaidan/Ashley being a spectre to track Shepard down. LOL, that should lead the way to great make-up sex if nothing else.
You know, I hadn't actually thought of that.
I had thought the council would see Shepard building an army through alliances and decide that he'd be Saren v2.0, but I hadn't thought about that. That'd be a good plot twist indeedie!

That would be one hell of a plot twist. Lucky for me neither of them are LI's.
