KAL'HIIROL
The dwarven fortress of Kal'Hirol was long known as a center of learning
for the smith caste. Its workshops are where Paragon Hirol conceived
his famous improvements to golem resilience and power, and where Hirol's
favorite student developed a method for storing refined lyrium that is
still used today. These breakthroughs brought Kal'Hirol great
prosperity; its passageway are said to have glittered with gold and
silver. But the fall of Kal'Hirol is shrouded in mystery. All that is
known is that the fortress's elite one day showed up at Orzammar's great
doors, exhausted and in despair over the loss of their home.
Sweet!!

I have to say, I think that the level art for Kal'Hirol is my favorite in Awakening. The whole deep roads poluted by teh darkspawn taint was explored back in DA:O, but I think it is much better in Awakening. This area is awesome to look at and deadly to explore in game. I think fans are really gonna dig it.

Wow, lotsa screenshots! It does look very cool. I loved all the dwarven architecture in Origins, so can't wait to see this "in person"

Will it be more of a single area or an entire map to explore? The name itself points on a typical city name... Just asking. Still, thanks for the new info. You people sure know how to make me happy (and others less so)Chris Priestly wrote...

I am also wondering what that organic stuff is about.. is it converting the site or just there to look cool. Is it like that in the Blighted lands?

Looking through those screenshots, I think they're spectacular. Number 2 is my fave.
They have the same feel of Orzamar, but with a completely new flavour!
One month to go and I cannot wait.

That page reminds of a Christmas Calendar! It would be nice to get a new treat everyday until Awakening!Upper_Krust wrote...
Looks very good, especially like the misty bits with the light shining through.
