Um...ok that might sound a little harsh, but...

...Awakening is not going to be Orzammar reloaded (dungeon crawl, few quests, lots of hack'n'slash), right ? Because with this new location and the fact that Oghren is the only NPC fully returning that's the impression I get.

Orzammar was by far the most boring (actually the only boring) part of DA. Imo of course
-but if that's how it's going to be I'll skip Awakening.

15 hours of pure fight...
no romance
and maybe small party interaction and dialogue....

now a dungeon...

sometimes i think that half the gamers here are emo's.

Have you looked at the positive sides of the game?  Because it isn't pure fight. Your romance will be mentioned and the interaction with your party would be the same as always execpt you don't kiss/ Fcuk them. Otherwise they wouldn't have placed a talking darkspawn guy in it and placed cameo's

why is it that dwarven area's are dungeons... The ruins in brecillian forrest whas a real dungeon crawl. you couldn't get back easily to sell your stuff. Atleast with the deeproads in DA:O you could go back to Orzammar everytime you did a part of the roads

Man that looks so cool, I loved the Deep Roads.

Apparently this makes me a SA:O weirdo, as no one liked them. But then, I lveo anything dwarf related in this game, the lore is brilliant.

Same. I think people hated it mostly because there was so much filler combat thrown in there. If there was as much combat there as say Redcliffe or during The Urn of Sacred Ashes, I think people would love The Deep Roads.

I actually have talked to a ton of people outside this forum that loved Origins, but don't want to replay it solely because of the sheer amount of combat that you have to wade through. It's a legitimate complaint, but fortunately, I like Orzammar so much that I'm able to overlook it.

Just on the 15 hour thing I've read some feedback from a reviewer currently playing it and he says its false, its significantly more than that.

Hey Morroian, can you provide a link? Does it say anything regarding quality?

You're not alone, I loved the Deep Roads too.  I find the history and culture of the Dwarves fascinating and exploring these places that used to be a part of that but have been taken over and corrupted by the Darkspawn is incredible.  The whole Orzammar plot was my favourite part of the game.

This new area looks especially awesome! Posted Image

The Deep Roads are my favorite part of the game as well, along with the Fade sequence (which many people hate too actually, that's interesting).

btw guys, there is no Inferno Golem.

only Caridin. (yes he is back from his lava pit )

I find the Fade sequence drags a bit after several playthroughs, that said - I would like to see more in the Fade, just a Fade that's done differently to the last one.

I too really enjoyed the deep roads, particularly the first time when I had no idea what was going to happen and I met Hespith. I also had a terribly levelled party, so it was all really difficult (I still have nightmares over the Shriek ambush on the bridge...). The onyl reason I dislike ti is due to the fact I play on my slightly sub-par laptop and the lava-lighting effects in them and Orzammar play havoc with my playing speed.

Looking through the screens and wondering, is the blond woman one of Morrigan's sisters?

No, that's Velanna. She's a dalish elf mage companion, who simply happens to have the same hair as Morrigan. After all, it would be too much to ask that when there only have been two femal mage companions, the third that gets created wouldn't be recycling looks of the previous ones.
*sigh*
<_<

That's disappointing.  I think having one of Morrigan's sisters in the game would be awesome.  It could also open up an entire can of worms for the future.

Ah well. . .

Oh god the Shriek ambush, I got totally decimated first time that happened.  I just finished up the Deep Roads in my second playthrough though and I was at a much higher level and had some sweet darkspawn slaying gear, so even though I'm playing on a higher difficulty I breezed through most of it, didn't get challenging until the Broodmother.  The first time though, man, after every section I had to go back to Camp 'cause my party had accumulated like fifteen injuries between them (Oghren especially seemed to die in every fight).

But yeah, my computer copes fine in the Deep Roads, it's running through those fires in the Fade that slows it down (and this one part in the Sacred Ashes quest when you're going up this real steep part in the caverns.)

Andrew Farrell and Andre Santos did most of the new levels in Awakening and many of them are drool worthy. I also really love Kal'Hirol.
