Anyone else watching this game? Bobby Ryan just scored a goal. USA 1 SUI 0. This is my first time watching Olympic hockey and it looks so much different from NHL hockey -- probably because the NHL regular season is so long and the Olympics is only 2 weeks with so many players training for just these 2 weeks.

I'm not an expert on hockey either (only fell in love with the sport a little over a year ago). On paper it seems Canada and USA are really strong as all their players are NHL. Russia can't be discounted though with the likes of Ovi, Malkin, Kovalchuk and other NHL players.

I wish I was at home so i could watch it but Im not. Thank god though the mens tournament started...after USA and Canada there is NO competition at all...

Whoops...when I mentioned after not competition after USA and Canada i was referring to the women's tournament. I dont know how there Russian team is...but thats why Im glad the mens started...

I was around for the 'Miracle on Ice' in 1980. I still get goosebumps thinking of that. I'll be happy if both teams play their best, but I still want USA to win.

Honestly? I've always been able to care less. I don't think competition has any place in the Olympics. It should be about having fun in a globally aware setting.
