Sounds like something Casey Hudson would say, kormesios... if that is your real name.

I'll give a serious answer to the funny reply since this is something that bugs me a bit.

Dragon Age Wiki

Leliana, if romanced, will return with her love to the Grey Wardens to help rebuild the order if he/she should choose to do so, after which they join together in an effort to uncover the darkspawns' remaining secrets.

If you get that ending I don't see how in the world Awakenings can really make sense without her.

hmm but in other endings either if your traveling or staying in Denerim it says that she stays with her love 'at least for a time'. So if you get that ending at least it shows that something probably will happen causing them to drift apart. But if she went with you to rebuild the Grey Wardens then, like Vanderbilt_Grad said, it makes no sense if she isn't with you since she would be a major helper of the Grey Wardens. (Unless they do something like she tried the Joining but failed and died, and if that happens i'm gonna flip)

Hmm, that'll be hard for her to explain to you, former professional liar though she was.  Would you believe some line about elven 'adaptive genes'?  Or would you prefer she tried something about Morrigan and a dark ritual?

Leliana: "Orlesians mate by synchronizing their nervous systems with that of the father species. During the Union, we access our partner's genetic and ancestral memories, and pass the best traits on to the child."
Int 11 Human Noble Warrior: "... is the baby evil?"
Leliana: "No, but it is blue."

This is actually the reason Leliana wanted the nug.  She figured it would be a better father/mother/whatever than the PC. :P

Hell, I feel sorry for the kid then. Who would want to find out that one of their parents named the other parent 'Schmooples'?

I think that the developers have noted that they don’t have the time/resources to give every character a cameo. This, I think, is understandable. And with everyone undoubtedly having their different favorites that they want to see return they can’t cater to everyone.

That said, just because a character isn’t physically present doesn’t mean that the character’s existence can’t be felt or even have an impact on the game.

For example. All joking about sending e-mails aside, I do think that it might be a good idea if your romantic interest sends you a letter every now and then, letting you know what they’re up to and that they’re thinking of you, etc. It would be even better if you could write back (in some manner; perhaps a version of the dialog system used for composing a letter), but that’s probably asking too much. At least then you know that the character is still out there, still thinking of you and not just going to break things off just because that’s convenient to the realities of game development.

They could even be involved in events in their own way. Perhaps while you’re busy overseeing the rebuilding of the Grey Wardens at Amaranthine, Leliana decides to take a scholarly trip to the Tevinter Imperium (or elsewhere in the world) to learn more about the history of the darkspawn. All of your adventures would then just happen to happen as she’s away on her trip. And she might send reports, or even items, over which might help you in your quest (perhaps you tell her through messages about the Architect and she send something back with some historic evidence that she found that might aid you on your quest in turn).

Similar reasons (or possibly even the exact same one) could be found for the other love interests. But I always found it weird how nothing in the world tends to happen unless you personally do it; if it were up to me I would’ve sent Alistair to Redcliffe and The Circle Tower while I went for the elves and dwarves myself; there’s no reason for half your party to sit in camp doing nothing.

I’m just saying to let the characters you’re not controlling do something as well off-screen. This can then be perfectly combined with your love interest not being around... they’re simply off doing other important things.

Though my Warden is dead, so it doesn’t matter that much to me personally.

Those are very good ideas. Incorporating letters, like the emails in ME2, is an EXTREMELY good idea I reckon. It'll at least tell us that those characters are still around somewhere and it will at least let us know that LI's like Leliana still care. And your idea about them at least showing that they are doing something is also good. If there were people who would relay info to you, it would make sense that they are Wynne and Leliana since they are the kind of people who would take scholarly or religous trips and be surrounded with tons of info (Wynne is more likely come to think of it).

And I take it your not going to (magicallyPosted Image) 'revive' your Warden then?

Leliana is very busy working for Anora spying on the darkspawn. She did seem very intense about it but I wouldn't call that obsessed....

Or she could be intensely guarding the Urn of Sacred Ashes, which no one can get to anyway since I didn't kill the ****ing dragon!

Oh, I enjoy a good broken ending.

I'm still hopeful that BioWare will come with a solution that'll allow the sacrifice of our Warden to persist within the story of Dragon Age.

Beyond that I'm not sure, to be honest. I'm certainly not going to import by dead Warden and have her 'magically' be alive again. That completely trivializes the choice made. I might go back and pick another ending (like the ritual one), but honestly that's not really any better than hand-waving the death to begin with.

Perhaps I'll play the Orlesian Warden (as I would otherwise) and just hope that the world state for that character is relatively close to the one I left with. But either way all I'm seeing is three ways that kill the story I experienced in the main game.

Even if they don't allow the Ultimate Sacrifice to continue to exist, I do hope that they'll give indication of your romance choices for those that chose one of the other endings. I think that it is vitally important that they connect players with their personal stories from the main game in more than a "here's a new area with monsters to defeat" way.

I think the idea of letters would be a good way to incorperate the characters/romance itnerests without actual cameos. Maybe even a present now and then. :)

I'm just glad they're not killing your love interests off/making them mysteriously disappear/break up with you or something. That was a major relief. They should change the wording of the FAQ, because many people are distressed about that!

Yea.. but Beerguzzler doesn't quite have the same ring to it as either Schmooples or Asschabs. :P

Liana is a character you can romance in ME 1. In ME 2, she's obsessed with finding a character known as the Shadow Broker, and so she can't join your epic quest to slay the archdemon Collectors. :)

I think it's a humourous way to point out how BioWare screwed over two of its most popular characters and their fanbases in the follow up games.

My Leliana is now obsessed of winning me over with gifts and the occasional darkspawn head after I said that I love cheese (apparently she doesn't like cheese, even though she has a huge block near her tent)
