Ironically he was originally supposed to be the only m/m romance. Or so I heard.
Whereas Tali was supposed to be the f/f romance. 

I'm not homophobic or anything... but I prefer it this way. I just don't see either of those characters - definitely not Thane - falling for the same gender.

Nah. Can't say I have a good explanation for it, sorry, but I just prefer them this way. If they are going to introduce a homosexual or bisexual character I'd rather have them completely new. That said, I'd not want them to be stereotypical either.. why? That's just lack of creativity.

Though yes. I can see Thane as bisexual. Dude is going to die soon. I doubt he cares who comforts him at this point.

I doubt EA is the reason there were no obviously homosexual romances in ME2. I mean, they developed The Sims 3 and published the entire Sim series, and I'm not even going into the kinds of romancing fun you can have in that game.

Species does not equal gender, however. 
But lets face it people. The current characters are not homosexual nor bisexual. I doubt they're going to change that. Best chance is that they'll introduce a character that is in Mass Effect 3, or even DLC.

Of course not. But Thane isn't even that humanoid (more humanoid than Garrus but less than Liara) so I guess it wouldn't matter so much.

Edit: And I wish people would stop acting like character's sexuality is set in stone. For pete's sake its a VIDEO GAME. Honestly they aren't real people. They are artificial constructs. Them being bisexual isn't a retcon. (Thermal clips = retcon, someone revealing they are attracted to both genders =/= retcon UNLESS their was a time were that was proven false. Seeing as that hasn't been...)

It scares me sometimes how weird people act over video game characters. They are limited in their actions by AI and how much a writer can reveal of them during the storytelling process. Its nice to dig deep and try to see their motivations but at the end of the day They Are Not Real People.

I think it would be kind of interesting to see the shipmates hook up with each other... Not sure how they would be implement it, but sounds entertaining!

I just want to point out, that Thane is obviously bisexual, regardless of a long dead wife and a child he still cares for. So the alien couldn't love his family and my Shepard too? What's the big deal
