Do you guys think leaving Grunt and Legion alone willl dramatically change the story of ME3?
Is doing nothing going to effect ME3?

i really hope it does change it to a reasonable extent (change some dialogue and situations where appropriate, galaxy shouldnt hinge on whether you sold legion or not, but shouldnt cop out with some universal occurence in a time gap to allow any choice to defeault to same situation; parasini, council, im looking at you)
but from how impactful ME1 choices were...i wont hold my breath.

as they can also die, probably not, the game might simply think that they have died or something

I'm hoping in ME3, not acquiring characters or if they die will limit the amount of potential squadmates you can have in ME3.
I'm expecting the ME1 and ME2 choices to have a bit more impact in ME3 but won't be something that the galaxy hinges on.
I'm hoping the default ME3 shepard will have all the squadmates alive. Well almost all of them depending if there is a time gap and how big it is.

But if you don't recruit Legion then you wouldn't know about the heretics plans to corrupt the Geth. So logically if you didn't recruit Legion, then the Reapers would have a massive Geth army for ME3

I think it will have an affect for Legion. I mean think about it, if you keep legion you learn quite a bit about the motives of the Geth and about Geth vs. Heretics, things you don't learn if you sell him plus there is his loyalty mission. On the other hand if you do sell him you are providing Cerberus with a fully working intact prototype Geth unit with over 1000 individual programs loaded, I imagine that they could learn quite a bit from this, although what is anybody's guess.
Grunt though I can't see there being much, granted we learned about some Krogan coming of age rituals and that but it just didn't seem to me like there was anything to him that could change the story in a significant way (FYI I have not played through without opening the tank).
My thoughts anyways.
