So I just finished playing through Thane's recruit mission again and I just have to say, of all the recruit missions, his is simply the best, imho (please note this topic has nothing to do with the characters themselves, just the design of their missions).  Bioware really outdid themselves crafting that little piece of experience.  The pacing is good and builds up to this beautiful moment on the bridge between the two towers, the music is exhilirating (Thane's OST track is one of the standouts I think), the scenery is inspiring, and it's all so nicely complimented when I pull out the M-920 Cain halfway across the bridge and light up the night sky with a miniature, nuclear sunset :D:devil:.  And then when you finally catch up with your quarry, it is like the eye of the storm, the room so quiet, the drell with his prayers, the symbolic setting sun a halo around his head.  Ah Bioware you are making me wax poetic....

That is all. ^_^

So what was your favorite mission, and why? (I was only comparing this to the other recruit missions in my little spiel up there, but you can add loyalty ones if you want).

well seeing as it was the first mission they showed, it better be good.:pinched:

garrus' recruitment mission was my fav; seeing your old friend turned omega's superhero, then seeing him nearly die...that was engagement of the emotional variety.;)

I liked Tali's best, because of the speeches/action, the weighty decisions, plus I got to be space Law and Order district attorney!

They did a great job of creating an alien courtroom environment and making it believable. What Tali's father did, and the various ways a player could interpret his actions, and react to them, made it very epic. Listening to Tali defend the quarian's hopes to retake their homeworld was really convincing, as was her reaction if you choose to present the data found on the Alarei. She really hates your guts if you do that.

Overall, it was VERY engaging for me.

Yeah, when you add in my opinions of the characters, Garrus's is my favorite.  I guess if the archangel mission had been about some character I didn't like, we'll say Zaeed, then Thane's would be my favorite overall.

Zaeed's loyalty mission is acutally not bad if you play it as a Paragon, only because the lines he says and the actions your Commander Shepard takes for Zaeed just doing his own thing and not listening is pretty cool dialogue.

I do agree wtih the OP, Thane's recruitment mission is probably one of the bests, because of everything that's involved with it, and the fact that it has to do with Nassana, a direct Mass Effect 1 reference was even awesome.
