Compared to Liara is Samara/Morinth kind of ugly?

Um... No. Samara is the most amazing character in ME2. In no way do i fund her ugly. If you look at each of her facial features individually, they aren't the most attractive. But combined together, they create a face that perfectly fits the character of Samara in every way. She is strong, regal, proud, powerful and confident. All are evident in her face. And combined these create a supremely attractive character.

Morinth might look almost exactly like her, but she's not quite as beautiful since her personality ruins much of that regal bearing that is Samara's defining characteristic.

Liara... tbh i found her to be the exotic-alien-plain-Jane. For a Shepard who hasn't been exposed to much of the Alien races, seeing a reasonably cute Asari whose naivete and innocence are at odds with the majority of Matron and Matriarch stage Asari she/he's likely to have met is a sure bet for some kind of attraction.

ranking the most beautiful Asari in the game is hard but i'd go:

1. Aria T'Loak

2. ME1 Shiala

3. Samara

4. Sha'ira

5. Morinth

oh... and for those who think that Samara's/Morinth's breasts are disproportionate... look at Matriarch Benezia... hers are bigger than both of their's. Perhaps the Asari bosom increases with age... they just don't spread elsewhere like most human women do (possibly owing to their cellular control not slowing their metabolisms)... so the proportions seem more "out of"

Seems all the appearance changes BW made on ME1 characters were for the worst. When I first saw Liara again I thought "What the hell happened to her face?!". She looks odd now. I also disapprove of her personality change. But I have to admit I haven't finished her sidequest (something must have gone wrong with the hacking...), so maybe it will be explained how a shy introvert turns into this confident business woman.

I like Samara's personality well enough. Yes, she's mature and has made enormous sacrifices for her quest to bring justice to the world. That's honorable. What I don't like about characters like her is following a code no matter what. You can't make every situation fit into a code. You can't judge every person according to a code. It's a very convenient way to see the world. You did bad, you have to pay. No excuses, no mercy. Still Samara is not unkind and I like her despite that stupid code.

I play as a paragon, try to avoid people getting killed. Which turned out to be a mistake once with that one asari criminal...

but when that code has over 10000 entries... its quite simple to see the world/galaxy. different People are all that different when you strip them back to motive,  actions and consequences.

Why?  That's redundant when she's the best in both...and there isn't that much difference.

HELL NO.

Shiala looks horrible in ME2. It makes sense, since she's got the whole medical after effect problem.

She looks sickly. Eugh.

ME1 Shiala was attractive as hell. ME2 Shiala got hit with the ugly stick. Thrice.

Samara is obviously 1000 years old and it looks on her face

She's 600+ years old
And  yes, Samara is ugly

I'm not sure which is worse: the thinly veiled comments that try and fail at being disceet or the comments that make no effort to conceal contempt at all. In my world Samara is the opposite of ugly

Guess I'm just grateful that our avatars don't show real life piccies of the poster, I'd be concerned at what I might see.

I just played a game of ME1 and had a bit of a problem with this.  I was RP as me making the choices I would make but my biggest dilemma was Ashley or Liara.  Liara is prettier because Ashley has got that thing with her lip, however I think Ashley is more sexually attrative and would be more fun in bed but her xenophobia is a  put off in terms of getting on with her but I'm not much attracted to Liara's bookish shyness.  In the end it came down to which one I would miss most if I wasn't with them.  So I finally chose Liara.

Samara and Morinth have got a nicer body than Liara but Liara has a more attractive face.  I like Morinth's face and voice better than Samara.  Samara has got a bit of a square face.

I like liara, I think shes pretty, shes not my main sheps romance but i have a save with her. I like her character alot, i dont know why so many people hated the fact that she changed in ME2, I liked it. It made me think whatever happened to make her this way must have been pretty serious. That said i dont like her voice acting. The accent sounds forced and unnatural as upposed to Talis voice actor who isnt eastern european, puts on an excellent accent wich sounds natural. Samaras a nice character, very interesting, although as a hardcore renegade i susspect there will be a confrontation in ME3. I thought she was ok looking, but nothing special
