I'm suprised there's no thread for this yet, but I 'm wondering what everyone's favorite origin story is? I've only played through human noble and mage so far. Of those 2 I prefer the mage...

I have beaten the game with a Mage and am playing a City Elf right now.
I feel that the mage origin was much better.
I am hoping there is some payoff later in the game for playing a city elf, because I found it's origin rather dull.

I felt alot more motivated by the City Elf Origin..The Mage Origin was nice..but overall..I'm going with Human Noble..there are a few I still haven't played through..and I won't for a while but there it is.

The City Elf story didn't really work for me, because I was more motivated to cut every humans head off than to help stop the Darkspawn.
Then, I meet the king, and all I want to do is click the [stab him for mistreating my people] option, but none existed. It just did not work for me.
As the Mage, I felt like I had an opportunity to see the world, and I felt motivated to stop the darkspawn after that scum Joval turned out to be using blood magic.

Well I have completed the game with a Human noble, and been trying out the different origin stories + gender, and I would say that Human Noble is still one of the best, its very dark and scary, you sorta feel the pain hehe.
I like the Dwarf Noble, City Elf stories aswell.
Dalish is a tad boring, and Dwarf Commoner is decent.

City elf, Hands down. It showed a real sensitivity to oppressed minorities. I particularly liked the two kids who were playing human heroes because they didn't know about any Elf heroes. The Alienage felt like a real analog to medieval Jewish ghettos and I really appreciate the thought that went into it.
And yeah, it makes you want to Destroy All Humans. You can still fight the darkspawn just fine, though, because they threaten your people also.
