This is taken from the bioware website..

Which Dragon Age: Origins NPC will be returning? (Back to top)

Besides Oghren who plays a large role in Awakening, there are cameos and returning characters. For companions you'll potentially meet Loghain, Wynne, and Alistair depending on your decisions in Origins. In regards to NPCs, Master Wade and Herren reprise their roles, with Wade offering to make even more fantastical goods if the player brings his list of ingredients. Loghain's daughter, Anora, may also appear in Awakening depending on your choices in Origins. From David Gaider's novel "The Calling" - both the Architect and Utha are present in Awakening.

WOOHOOO!! THE WORST CHARACTER IS RETURNING! The only character, drunken fool that provided no humor or emotional attachment is returning.
Why not bring back morrigan, like everybody wants.. If itstoo immoral to bring backMorriganlike the payingcustomers want, why not bring backleliana, or any other charater for that matter..?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------1.7 – If I had
a romance in Origins, does it carry over into Awakening? (Back to top)

Romances do not carry forward in Awakening, because you are away from your previous life fighting a new threat.

1.8 – Who can I romance in Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening? (Back to top)

There are no romances options available in Awakening. The story is focused more on the mission at hand and the new threat to Ferelden.

Lets get this straight.. You cannot romance anybody... (Okay, this is tolerable)
BUT your past romances do not carry over? WTF!!!!
So, if you romanced leliania, and she helped rebuild Warden headquarters, pfft.. Hell no. No romances!
Serioously, Did bioware suddenly become extremely stupid, or maybe taken over by an army of apes?
If you married Allistair, there is no carry over about the relationship?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Aldso, there will be no DLC in DA:A.. So, my fully equipped dragon armor characters will be naked pieces of crap, i guess?

Seriously though, the way Morrigan exited the game, and the frostwolf mountain thing, they BETTER give her a significant role in DA:A[/list]

Could you have put this in one of the 20 other threads on the exact same subject with the exact same contents?

I know there are a lot of posts about this, but I find it rather sweet that people care. It's a game, I know. Shockingly, we have real lives, real loves (and a lot of us are playing together, btw) - but they did a good job of these relationships, to their credit. Dropping it... matters. Not World Wide matters - but in this game, in this hobby, time-spent-playing, it matters. I think it's because you put something of yourself in every character you create - even if you're making a villain, even if you're making one of the other gender. (I've made a few male characters, too - they're still MINE) Therefore, while I'm fine with NPC romances (Oghren & Felsi, or whatever, were cute) - it's nothing more than watching people on tv or in movies. The good movies, books, stories, have people you identify with - a part of you is in them. Games do that very well - even if it's Me the Hero (and hence, I'm a mage - don't need muscle for that!) - they're exceptionally involving. Just so long as the developers understand this, I'm sure they'll do a good job with their own creation.

i hope so i was looking forward to awakening when it was first advertized but now i'm not so much thrilled about it the devs have killed my excitement due to stripping the game of the most popular things. Typical isnt it

Why am I not surprised it's the same two complaints. Might as well have stuck in the "my choices as a dead warden don't matter" to make it three for three.

Just because you didn't like Oghren it doesn't mean everyone disliked him. The same holds to for you wanting Morrigan in the expansion.

David Gaider expained this in another thread. The relationship doesn't end, nor does the expansion treat it like it never happened. There will be references and acknowledgements but your relationships are not significant to the plot of the expansion.

Aldso, there will be no DLC in DA:A.. So, my fully equipped dragon armor characters will be naked pieces of crap, i guess?

Or if the issue isn't solved by released your character will be wearing another set of armor?

You can go look at a map of Thedas, she is nowhere near where the expansion takes place.

I for one am glad Morrigan isn't coming back. She deserves an entire sequel in her honor.

Well obviously Carlo people actualy are very pissed at this happening to them in the new DA:A among other things they have screwed us on. So yes you probably see 5-8 new negative posts everyday about this happening until people realize Bioware just doesnt care or Bioware starts listening to what the people " PAYING" for their titles want. If they keep  doing the former they will be like every other game company who has made it big and done the same thing, we will watch them fall to the wayside then disappear.

Boohoo, don't buy the game then, problem solved.

For the love of God it's always the same complaints, oh noes I won't be able to secks teh b!tch, Oghren's not funny and only half as hot as Leliana, what will I do now? Get over it, a lot of the stuff you did (romance and story wise) will still be referenced it just won't be expanded on, which is understandable due to budget, time and Voice Actor constraits.

I pre-ordered the game and I'm not in the least bit disappointed, I think people are expecting way to much from this expansion in the first place, especially since it's being released some 5 months after the original game.

The main thing I am really annoyed, I cant really call it mad or upset because the emotions are not that strong is the DLC content not coming over. Yes I did have fun with it when I played through it, however I was under the assumption that our decisions and gear would be coming with us.

And am I no way telling anyone to do what I did and go get a full refund for those who pre-ordered it like I did.

And I will agree with Shedevil, I can respect anyone who wants to play DA:A I think I just want to sit back and let my peer's review it before I decide to go spend my money on an expansion is all now.

I can understand being miffed about the DLC items not carrying over, many people paid for them and honestly it shouldn't be that hard to have them port over with your character. But the romances and returning character complaints is just beyond me, did any one really buy the game (or simply enjoy it) because they got to romance an NPC? Or did you like it because of the fact it was a fairly well written story and gave your a depth of choices not found in other RPGs like Oblivion?

Awakening looks to be a brand new story ark not just a simple add on to the existing one, with that in mind you can't expect Bioware to implement every story element that was in the previous campaign. We're getting a whole bunch of new talents, 5 new companions, and a brand new story, as long as the expansion has a decent plot and lets you make significant choices like in Origins, it should be a perfectly good game.

Personally this is the thing that makes me the most upset:

2.5 – Will my items, armor, stats, etc transfer over if I import my character from Dragon Age: Origins? (Back to top)

Almost all items are imported with your character. The only exceptions are the Origins promotional items and DLC loot, which were meant for Origins alone.

I can understand the promo items. Heck, most of those were replaced/worthless by the halfway point anyway. But the payed DLC? The hell? Obsolete much? I'll just be sure to keep that in mind for future dlc and remember not to buy them.

This game seems like it has become like Herren. More about making profit than producing a quality product.

Meh, I feel like this about it now that I have had a cup of Grown-up Coffee. I cannot really do anything about it since it is completely out of my hands. I however did address Mr. Gaider personaly on the forums and he responded, do it make me feel any better about the DLC no it does not but I do feel like the dev's actualy hear us. I know I wont change anything but it is just nice being heard sometimes.

* Eats some crow* Wish I had done this before I got my refund for my pre-order DA:A. Anyhow I am going to go play DA:O now for awhile. Playing a AW for the first time and going after spellweaver...Woooots
