i hope that whatever they do, that they include more romance options maybe a happy ending and for god sake return our companions along with some new faces

Agreed!

exactly my thoughts.

But after the comment in the end of Awakening the world is changed completly DA 2 could be lay in the past.

I hope that DA2 will tell a completely new story, set several years in the future in a land far away with only a few references to the occurrences in DAO. No Morrigan, no god-child... this should be kept to the expansions of DAO.

Another interesting thought is that DA2 could take place in the past, during the time of Andraste's crusade and the player is one of her companions...

Could go parallel like the Elder Scrolls games (different regions set apart from previous entrees)

Thank you Shedevil.

On another note, I wouldn't mind it being set in the past. Perhaps around the rebellion against Orlais, or perhaps the time King Calenhad fought to unite the Clayne tribes

me personaly i'd like to see something different for a change like maybe the trouble spreading further afoot so our warden has to travel around trying to sort it all out and on the up side we get to see new places and our warden gets to travel and see the world even if it is just to save it :}

Agree, traveling by ship, or other means, would give the world a more grand scale.

exactly and it would be intresting to learn more cultures and see how other parts of the world lived and how they dress and all that plus the political differences and how things are handled it would be nice if we could keep 1 or 2 of our companions with us or at least our romanced characters but if not it would be nice to have flash backs or some sort of memory of them so they are not just forgotten

gosh.... one story, so many interpretations. no wonder the Bible got so watered down and diverse over the centuries.

Lol!! But you'll have to wait a long time for DA:O2... cause I don't think there will be one. the sequel will be DA2.

I'm still wondering why they left the O in Awakening.

Perhaps we should be allowed to travel in airships, like in Final Fantasy series. Makes the world grander and explains the travel time over such great distances.

Yeah Dragon Age: Origins: Awakening should just be Dragon Age: Awakening

Kind of like Half Life 2: Episode 2, which just looks like Half Life 2... 2

Or the Metal Gear games, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake followed by Metal Gear Solid

whats up with the extremist views? despite the reason for fighting evil it doesn't erase the fact that you fought another evil as well, I mean yea you saved eamons life so you could curry his favor, but you still saved his life and depending on what path you chose you could be considered more then just a grey warden fighting the blight, but a hero. Sure the concern is darkspawn but the warden does so much more, if you want your warden to be only about blights so be it but my warden is an adventurer first and a warden second

yes but if you've read up on da it says that thedas is in chaos so it means our warden or a warden anyways is going to be extremely busy til they die i'd imagine unless they find a cure saving the world and killing all evil except men ofcourse that evil well it will always exist

Do what you will, it's your game, your interpretation and your imagination. I rather stick to the lore as put forth in the codex, the wiki(s), and the books.

"In war, victory

In peace, vigilance

In death, sacrifice"

Adventuring business is for adventurers. Keeping the darkspawn at bay and battling them and all they entail is Grey Warden business. As is recruiting and rebuilding, because according to lore, their numbers have dwindled to all but a few. Which could be bad, as we all found out in DA:O

it was bad but we still defeated the archdemon so even with a small amount of gw its not impossible either but yes i get what you mean plus every story needs its hero and our warden is it or we wouldnt have a game to play i dont mind the killing the darkspawn etc but my warden has to also have her friendships/relationships and other things to balance things out and help her get through all the tough things she has to face

Grey Warden's duty is about dealing with darkspawn, however, cause numbers are so few, what warden's are left will need to send envoys to travel round the world, just for example sake let's say your main warden, to help rebuild and monitor.

We had one in Origins anyway called Riordan, let's say start of DA 2 plot is a grey warden has been appointed with the task of traveling to monitor and help with other grey wardens in different lands, which ofc plot will change to a more danger and new threat to the world.

Ofc it's just a example :)

Well, we don't know the Darkspawn story so aren't in a position to say for sure what the future role of Wardens is. Awakening shows Darkspawn not doing what they've done in the past. No point in introducing the Blight in DAO just to defeat it and discard it. Bioware probably has a twist a mind. Why start the story around this Blight instead of others? Because this is the one where things started to change.

Im hoping things get worse, I want to see the world in a state of Annihilation with The Wardens stood in defence More importantly my Warden old and Withered stood at the head of the Army.(With a Cloak this time dont feel mighty without my fur cloak)

I think it would be cool to discover the Darkspawn had fabricated The Black City deep under the deeproads or atleast DA2 lead into a plot line were the Darkspawns Black city is Revealed, essentialy its a Massive Fortress built on a fault in the fade, surrounded by brood mothers that are spawning bodys for the spirits of the fade to possses.

Oh dear.
My post below yours wasn't aimed at you, Shedevil. I more or less forgot the @ immortallogic part. Your post came in right in between.

The wardens are indeed heroes, they just saved Ferelden and possibly other places from the Blight. And they do indeed have friends and perhaps even families, even though Duncan made it clear that they can never go back to their old lives. something Jory did not understand, much to his detriment.

i didnt take it personal but i understood what you said in your post :}

true enough but as we hear often sometimes changes must be made for the better duncan understood alot of things but what he didnt realize is if it wasnt for friendship and the loss of people close to our warden we wouldnt be as strong or motivated to do our duty its loss and having someone there to lean on occasionally that helps us to keep going the same as in real life as the expression goes that, that doesnt break us makes us stronger plus having people we care about would make us want to save them by doing our duty to protect those people so in a way friendships/relationships are important at least i think they are
