it would be very bad for those that didnt do the ritual to all of a sudden have morrigans old god child turn up

Doesn't really work that way, Bioware will pick a canon for you and run with it. Like all of their games, choice is an illusion.

Mass Effect is the exception, rather than the rule. One only has to look at other Bioware games to see this.

no idea...on one hand I would like to see more of my Warden from DA:O....but perhaps if they just give us, GOOD, expansions that will suffice.

however on the other hand...awakening shows that the current system they have in place does not cater well to going much higher in level..we're already virtual gods by the end of awakening so that there's almost no challenge at all unless you play on the very highest difficulty.

So honestly for DA:O2 I hope they give us a new time-period and Warden..actually I wouldn't mind NOT being a warden at all...and regardless of whether or not we're Wardens I do NOT want another Blight or Archdemon to deal with...it was already done. Also..no Architect. With it being their own IP they have SO much room to expand on concepts in the game that to make us deal with another blight (and arguable Darkspawn as the main enemies) would be tripe.

I highly doubt that Bioware wouldnt use the same amazing system they have in place for the Mass Effect series. I'm sure they will read your DA:O save for something depending on how far in the future/past the game is actually set. Why wouldnt they?

To that end I'd like to be able to play as darkspawn and not just in some stupid dlc. I hope that at some point during my 'evil' playthrough I can side with the darkspawn or something like that. I'd rather not like to forced to be the hero again. I'll save that for my goody goody play through. thx.

I want more Origins possible. I also want more races playable. And honestly, I want all the datable character to be bisexual or something. It would be less frustrating to the PS3 and Xbox360 owners to date them without using a patch on PC. It's all about freedom and choices after all. I expect the next Dragon Age to be even bigger than its predecessors and maybe more. Also, I want some grinding spots and more abilities to learn.

Program the ridiculous amount of choices and have the game react for every eventuality? Hell no, ever read the ME2 dev diaries? It's a programming nightmare. Even doing only the big choices eats development time and money like crazy.

It must be done for Mass Effect because it's a series, but even the Mass Effect 2 forums are full of gamers FREAKING OUT because the choice they made in a previous game could only be manifested in the form of an email or NPC comment. Because, you know, trying to have something happen for EVERY eventuality would result in Mass Effect 2 being released 4 or more years from now.

This IP has a lot to it. I don't see The Warden returning, and I hope he doesn't, gallavanting off with Leliana or ruling happily with Alistair or finding a discarded ring in the swamps while searching for Morrigan.

I don't want to be a Warden again. In fact, I'm perfectly OK with NOT joining some ancient order tasked with protecting the world.

like vicious said..because the choices and varying paths you can take in Origins outnumber Mass Effect more times over then anyone should want to count.  That equates to time vs money and return of investment...

the question, an intelligent person, would ask is..why WOULD they use it?  there's far too many variables that will take far too much time and create far to many possible conflicts and bugs..and cost them WAY too much money to vs what they'll get in return.

I just hope they set the sequel so far away that none of the choices are mentioned.

I hate Morrigan, and I think the Dark ritual is stupid. Others probably think the same about the US. So instead of pandering to one specific group... why dont they just not bother?

I'd rather it not mention anything at all instead of it mentioning something I chose to not do.

I don't agree with your point Behindyounow. That would make the whole DAO experience worthless. This series is all about making choices that will influence the storyline. Without them, you would play something linear like a JRPG and have to b**** because you're not satisfied with the story. DAO allows you to make such decisions and it's important in my sincere opinion that all your choices matters in Dragon Age 2. For lazy player who wish the start with a new Warden, they could always make one storyline canon and ignore the entire quest you made in Dragon Age 1.

And making a choice canon (which they're more than likely going to do) will make your choices worthless anyway.

Better no choices making any impact than the ones you didn't make.

I want to see Morrigan again damnit!

Anyway, I doubt that it would be the main plot in DA 2. I don't mind if I have to be a Warden again, also, starting a new story wouldn't bother me...

I just wanna see what is going to happen with Morrigan and the Warden. Thats it.

Being a Darkspawn is just awful in my opinion. A playable Qunari would satisfy my needs for more playable characters. Starting a new story would be better because the new character customization, but if you could upgrade ur old character's looks, thats fine for me.

I just hope that Bioware keep the standard, and give us another excellent, deep, outstanding game like DAO.

Keep up the good work BioWare, and igonre the haters :P DAO is the best game ever :D

Guess what, I think they will only do more DLC on Origins, that will involve our Warden a bit more. I don't think anything major like awakening will come out, some minor dlc will however, they still have a lot to go. But Dragon age 2... I don't think it will involve our warden, a good example why is let's say, Awakening

Sure it continues our story with the Warden, but what do we exactly see different by importing our warden then from starting a default one? Not much really.

Even if they DO continue with our Character's story, (which I doubt) it would not include any companions that were in Origins or Awakening, Let's look at awakening again, you know why they chose Oghren? Because he was the least popular amongst all others, let's say They Returned Leliana, the fans of Leliana would be happy of course, (and other people that liked her) but not others, since they wanted their favourite to come back as an extra.

Of course I might be wrong but considering how Awakening's epilogue explains the events that happen later, I think it's ended, for good.

The game will open with Orghen reaching the end of his life, and is tradition, he is entering the Deep Roads to kills some Darkspawn. Or maybe he just got drunk and is looking for a fight. Anyway, after days of searching, he's dismayed because he hasn't had anything to kill and his companions are REALLY getting sick of him passing gas all the time. Then, a noise, like a crowd. We see him climb up an incline to peer over the ledge into a vast cavern filled with Darkspawn, a dragon that looks fierce, yet not corrupt, and a scantily clad pretty brunette in rags. Close-up of Orghen's shocked face and a series of close-ups on him and the brunette making eye contact across the distance. He's shocked. She's grinning. Cut to black and a fart sounds. Then the title, "Dragon Age 2: [something bad is going on type title]."

Why so much cynism?

That is my only wish : more DLC for Origins. This could give us more hours to play through the Journey.
