oh I've read about it, I just havent checked and I'm fairly sure I overwrote those saves at this point.  even though I spoiled the game for me to hell and back before playing it (so I basicaly did everything I could find before heading off to virmire), I still got caught up in a sence of urgency, so I didn't even come down to the cargo bay to check - just bareled straight to the culmination of the game.  I did do every target of opportunity though.

I wish there was a reliable way to check.  I read that if Mordin talks to you about Kirrahe at length suring one of your talks, then it means he lived, becasue otherwise he just mentions that he was a good solder?

 I got Mass Effect 2 first and loved it. The first time round Tali and Mordin died, but after some investigation I found out that it's easier if you import a character from Mass Effect 1. I also heard that you'd be in trouble if you romanced a different person in ME1 to who you romanced in ME2.

So I got the first game in the Steam sale, completed that- which took some doing, after being somewhat nannied by Mass Effect 2- and then imported the character. Had a MUCH better result that time and I am so very glad that they ditched the Mako for the second game. Also, why did they save most of the ME1 -> ME2 stuff for Illium?

Mass Effect 2 (second try):

100% Paragon, maybe 20% Renegade- again, Paragon when it didn't make me sound like a dick, like when grilling Thane about being an assassin. I mean, the guy seems fine with it, and I've killed thousands of Batarians, Geth, Krogan, Humans, Turians, Asari, Vorcha, and so on, so who am I to question him? At least he was precise; I thought nothing of unloading an M-920 Cain in the middle of Illium on Miranda's loyalty quest.


Miranda: talked to her sister. Wasn't able to do anything about Miranda's personality- no option to send her to a psychiatrist or for a lobotomy, sadly.
Jacob: father was arrested
Mordin: saved the student, kept the genophage data, since it's usually better to have knowledge and not use it- though I suspect I'm going to get hammered for this in Mass Effect 3.
Garrus: talked him out of killing Sidonis. 
Jack: saved the moron in the base on Pragia. Paragon solution to keep Jack and Miranda happy.
Tali: let Veetor go with Tali at first encounter, kept Kal Reegar from getting his head blown off, Paragon solution at trial. Didn't give any of the Geth data to the crazy genocide woman, told Mr. Quib Quib to keep looking for a new homeworld.
Grunt: killed the Thresher Maw
Thane: son was arrested, they are at least talking now
Samara/ Morinth: let Samara win, didn't really need another psychotic **** on my crew when Miranda was enough of a cow as it was
Legion: reprogrammed the heretics, Paragon solution in the Tali / Legion bust-up.
Zaeed: let the workers die since I was pretty much full Paragon at this point anyway.
Liara: installed Lair of the Shadow Broker, resumed romance with Liara from Mass Effect 1. Hoping for a lovely little blue kid in the next game. I'll see if it lets me call her 'Gadaffi Shepard-T'Soni'. Either way, I much preferred Shepherd gazing longingly at a photo of Liara before the suicide mission to watching an awkward sex scene between Shepard and Jacob.

All squad members loyal, all squad members survived.

Went straight through the Omega 4 relay after the crew were kidnapped, so was able to save everyone on the Normandy- well, apart from the anonymous guys who get ganked in the Joker escape sequence. 
Collector base: Legion for the tech specialist, Samara for the biotic specialist, Mordin sent back to the ship with the crew. Quite how it's easier for him to survive whilst escorting a group of wounded prisoners against a potential army of collectors, as opposed to fighting alongside a group of highly trained soldiers armed to the teeth, is a mystery
Destroyed the collector base, Illusive man clearly pretty pissed off. I'd be quite interested to see the Mass Effect 3 renegade ending, where humanity presumably enslaves the rest of the galaxy to work in the salt mines or whatever, so might find a renegade Shepard from Mass Effect 1 online and play through again that way. 

I did hit one major blip on the second run-through- before going after the Reaper IFF I decided to scour the galaxy and do all the side missions, including the free DLC (Firewalker, ugh) and the crappy ones on various random planets.

Of course, after going after the Reaper IFF I didn't get a chance to do Legion's side quest before the invasion of the Normandy, so reloaded and just did the main quests. Following that, I had time to do Legion's loyalty quest before the invasion- I'm guessing completing all loyalty quests just triggers it anyway.
