Well you have the option to say "good bye" or "she's with me". That was the same with me on my first play through. I had the feeling that actually talking to the admirals before doing the job would feel like trying to manipulate and rather weakening than strengthening Tali's position. But even on my second play through, when I did have the option, I chose "she's with me". May the Quarians do as they wish, I do care about Tali.

I thought that was disappointing as well. It should have been impossible to run the suicide mission and suffer zero casualties. One thing that ME2 lacked was a Virmire type decision. I may end up going back and revising my canon playthrough to suffer a few casualties as well, though I'm waiting for ME3 to be released first. I want to see what roles the ME2 squadmates play in the sequel, and might lose a couple if they are only making a cameo appearance in ME3.
