Since the ME series is trilogy and you in total have developed a rather large group of friends and Allies throught out ME1 and 2 i get the feeling and rather hope that 3 will have you rejoining with them all and more for support against the reapers seeing as its just too big threat for Shepard and his team to handle by themselves. Like the council could become a part in adding a new Squadmate by letting you choose from a range of Spectres to help you in your Fight, Wrex if you let him live Banding together the Krogan to Help you many possibilites which are enjoyable to think about cause the more people the merrier

ME1 was the exploratory phase. You found out what was going on.
ME2 was building your personal arsenal of personnel and technology.
ME3's likely going to be the "we need actual armies to help us" part, like Return of the King or Dragon Age: Origins.

Wrex: Long-term commitment as leader of clan Urdnot.
Ashley/Kaidan: Long-term commitment to alliance fleet.
Liara: Unknown timeframe, hunting the shadow broker.
The only one I see you could possibly get as a companion in ME3 is Liara, maybe Ash/Kaidan, the others seem to have to general long-time commitments, especially wrex.

Too obvious and too similar to the plot of Dragon Age.

This is what I expect ME3 will be composed of:
Alliancing the Quarian/Geth under peace and compromise
Bringing all of the Krogan clans into one
The rachni
Possibly convincing the Alliance and other species
Reasoning with the Council... HAHAHA I'm just kidding I'd let them burn!

It's obvious, yes - but an effective way to being everything to a satisfying close. And c'mon, it's not like BioWare never reuses game structures.

I wonder if I'm going to have to go to three areas to unlock another section of the game.

Or if I will get to give a big speech before the final battle?

Bioware has core beliefs rooted in their brand of storytelling, which leads to similar themes and ideas surfacing in their games, but they're not actively trying to tell the same story over and over. If at all possible, they will attempt to avoid attracting such criticism.TyDurden13 wrote...

My prediction: the factions are going to either show up in the end battle or not show up. For instance, if you killed the Rachni queen in ME1, they ain't coming and there's nothing you'll be able to do about it in ME3.
