I currently have Harbinger quotes instead of some of the default sounds. Opening a new program = "Assuming Control", etc. It's actually quite annoying, but I won't be changing it anytime soon.

What did you use to extract the sound files?
I used afcextr and ww2ogg, but I found this tool the other day that might be pretty user-friendly.. I havn't tried it, but I did hear good things about it:

How do you troll through all the audio files to find the correct ones?

I've had success with the tool in the link Divus Iuvenis posted a few spots above you. I was able to extract the nightclub music from Enternity and Afterlife that way.
I haven't found it too taxing to extract a chunk of the directories and simply listen through for the sounds I wanted, once you understand how they are labeled it makes a little more sense...

had a small hitch with my current notebook so I havent been able to work on it as much as I had hoped. Expecting my new notebook to arrive this week finally, after 3 weeks worth of delays from Alienware, after sending them an email requesting an additional 10% for the unacceptable long delay time or I was going to cancel the order, it mysteriously showed up as shipped now...Once i get the new notebbok I hope to continue working on it. Let me know any suggestions or ideas for backgrounds, sounds, etc anyone may have.

These are the EDI sounds, and the click sound I use in my theme.. I have edited some of them slightly.
The files are named after the function of witch they are assigned, but since I haven't got an english Windows, I had to translate them of the top of my head, and I don't know if they fit the english name.. But you can use them as you please

http://wallbase.cc/start/ has some great HD wallpapers to choose from.
I have a mass effect 2 theme right now that I just downloaded and so far im pretty dissapointed...all the sounds are, are just booms and gunfire, definatly need some more beeps and EDI voices.

here it is with a program which does the entering the startorb for you so you don't have to mess around editing anything yourself.

I think a whole Cerberus style Holo Theme would be cool, Ive been trying to find icons and backgrounds that have that orangish Holo look. Can you Post pictures of your Orb?

Could you possibly upload that to a site that isn't currently under federal investigation?greaper1666 wrote...

On a quasi-related note, does anyone have any ideas of where we could get sound effects? I don't have the game on PC, so I can't extract them myself, and I'm looking to change up some of the sounds on my laptop theme.

I would love a Mass Effect theme, however, I don't want it to feature the Normandy or Shep and the crew or anything like that. I want it to simulate as accurately as possible, a computer console form the Mass Effect universe. I don't want it to be fanfare, I want it to make me feel like I'm a specter a terminal
...just me?
