Just based on the shape of the hoods they wear, I'm guessing that they do have hair. If they didn't I would assume they would have gone with more of a smooth fitted helmet.

Yeah I always figured the hood was like surrogate hair, especially since the males tend to not wear hoods and the women do.

The males have those tube-dreadlocks, though. They're also clearly designed to evoke hair.

True, very true I wasn't implying they don't have things that evoke hair but you are correct.

I assumed they were just part of the suit, as there are tubes connected to Shepard's helmet in at least some circumstances. I also assume that the headcloth females have hide these tubes. So I am not certain if they were designed to "evoke" hair.

Yes, ostensibly they are, but I'm talking about character design, not in-universe.

I hope so. It feels like us humans are the odd ones out with this whole hair thing. It would nice to know that we are not the only species in the galaxy with hair.

I think if they were that heavily modified with cybernetics they'd have done something about their immune systems.

I can't help but notice the way female quarians have a kinda scarf-wrap drapped over their helmets, giving the vague impression of long hair, as has been said. Tali had this in ME 1.

I read some fan speculation that living in their suits for 300 years would mean they are all bald but I don't think that's enough time for any kind of natural genetic mutation to make its way through breeding and affect the entire quarian population.

I'm hoping for hair. Hell if they have scales or tentacles I don't really care. Tali is still awesome.

Tali will be attractive, though not to everyone's liking but attractive.

I was kind of confused by this as well. If you look specifically at Tali's head, for example, you can see what would appear to be hair taking up space because the helmet doesn't go down to her shoulders smoothly like the other female quarians you encounter...so maybe?

I'm pretty sure they do have hair. The fact that they wear hoods over their heads seems very indicative that they're trying to mimic hair.

I really, really hope they don't have hair.

Male tali fans, think about it for a moment. Women with those long locks you love? They brush it every day. It is extremely high maintenance to have beautiful long hair. How do you think that hair is going to look if it's stuck in a helmet for years with no maintenance, just growing in their suits without being de-tangled or washed, probably picking up whatever antibiotics they're flooded with when they get sick? It's not going to flow out like an Herbal Essences commercial the minute she takes off the helmet. It's going to be nightmare fuel.

Look up matted hair on google or watch Animal Rescue and see what happens to dogs that go years without grooming. It's not pretty.

Quarians do wash, read Ascention. It's the only time Quarians don't wear there suits.

I'm sure the quarians do take off their suits and wash themselves in sterile conditions.
Also, I expect Tali to have a shortish hairstyle.
Finally, it's a game, and they don't have to model the effects of hair matting.

Does it say how often? Because the aforementioned liquids running through their suits, plus being constantly smushed against their skin and picking up body oils... It's not going to take long for that to turn into a mess.

Nothing else in the galaxy has hair, I doubt the quarians would.

Judging by the small size of the face mask, I'd say Quarians have a very narrow face/head and, as one of the earier posters said, it would be uncomfortable and burdensome to have much hair underneath. Just b/c you can wash it sometimes doesn't mean it's worth maintaining. Head hair serves minimal purpose besides decoration, and Quarians obviously rely on their suits for that.

You know how when you wear a baseball cap all day long and you take it off you have hat hair... Now imagine you're stuck in a helmet for the majority of your life. For the Quarian's sake, I hope they're bald...

And while we're at it... I hope they don't sweat... because... PHEW!

In conclusion: Boot-Feet-Stink and Helmet hair... Way to go talimancers! She is all yours. (I KEEED I KEEED, I don't want to upset the Tali-Mafia).

Well since their helmets do mimic hair it's safe to say they are capable of growing it. I'm sure they keep it short..but still.

None of the other aliens seem to have hair (unless the volus do?) so I'm just guessing by "deduction" that Quarians are going to have hair.

Its funny how people assume they'll have hair and that males will have short hair and females will have long.

Not very creative...

What would be more creative?  Tentacles for hair? Parasites that burst out of their skulls?  Knives for hair?  Maybe they have little tiny geth that live on their skulls and throw tea parties?
