There is just something creepy about the Taliband

It’s not just the militant extremism or the desire to have their woman covered from head to toe, it is their near religious fanaticism that gets me the most. Anybody who attempts to draw a picture of their goddess is immediately threaten for they believe no human can possible do justice to her image. And of course there is the constant proselytizing, you can’t go anywhere without them trying to convert you. Realize the Talibad rule this forum and my life is endangered but I had to get this off my chest.

Let them have their Tali. It's not harming any of us.

Although I am a Talimancer myself, it does get a little out of hand at times, but her following hardly constitutes a religious cult.

If you don't like them, don't go into their thread. Most of the really insane ones pretty much keep to that one thread. I'm a great Tali fan, but even I don't go there... but it's not like they're hurting anyone.
I know, I am joking, I like Tali too, but you have to admit their something odd about the level of interests.

I could rattle of a non-comprehensive list of traits that
Tali'Zorah vas Normandy possesses (intelligence, sweet, shy, earnest,
quirky, passionate, courageous, strong yet gentle, reasonable, a voice
that makes grown men weak at the knees, a touch of mystery, etc.) which
are immensely appealing to many. Yet perhaps it is more succintly
summed up by stating that she represents a figure that many of us yearn
so deeply, even desperately, for; like a drowning sailor at sea clings
to flotsam to keep his head above the encroaching cold water, so too
are people here desperate-yet-hopeful that perhaps maybe, just maybe,
someday they may count themselves fortunate enough to encounter a
real-live woman who encapsulates if not all of these traits, then at
very least some of them. In short: Tali has become a symbol of
attainable perfection. It is a powerful thing for it speaks to a
yearning inside many of us and we feel its call. The character of
Tali'Zorah has reached out and captured our hearts and our imagination
and we want more. Much more.
This part alone dissuaded me from reading anymore of the thread.
Also, Taliband is a goddamn great pun.

Ugh, that sounds like something out of Twilight, and the following is about the same too.

I hope not, once in Freelancer I spent a week carefully examining pieces of debris to get a better picture of what the ships looked like inside. I just like to examine things in detail.

LOL if I had read this at the start of the forum I would have thought it as satire, the scary part is that it is not.

This. The Tali lovers have their own thread and share their own ideas. It's none of my business.

The worst part of that whole thing for me is the last part, " . . and we want more. Much more." Sounds like this guy wants a "slip Tali the roofie" option in ME3.

The difference is that Tali is legitimately awesome, and Twilight is an abysmal excuse for spreading Mormon values, whose protagonist is an Author Analogue Mary Sue of the highest calibur, and which has taken the vampire mythos and done unspeakable things to it to appease 12 year old girls.
That's some real hating going on. Not that I disagree.
