The difference is that Tali is legitimately awesome, and Twilight is an abysmal excuse for spreading Mormon values, whose protagonist is an Author Analogue Mary Sue of the highest calibur, and which has taken the vampire mythos and done unspeakable things to it to appease 12 year old girls.

I understand. The Taliband can not codone non-belivers or heretics.  Its a tenent of the faith which respect.

I love how people tend to generalize Tali fans under 'OMG THEY ARE ALL CREEPY AND ****** OVER RULE 34 PICTURES OF HER'. I like Tali because of her personality, that adorableness about her not 'dem hips' (I'm close to getting an aneurism from all the times I've heard that), or the obsession of what's under the mask and if you actually dislike a character because of some (admittedly creepy) comments, then you're just as bad as them.

Seriously. Get over it.

Funny thing, I really haven't seen that many rule 34 pics of Tali, and most of the ones I have seen were made from ME1.

As someone once said, most people actually just like her, plain and simple.

That's some real hating going on. Not that I disagree.

This. Also, I like Tali but stay well clear of the circle jerk thread.

Seriously. Get over it.

Sorry. I had to fix that :P

Sometimes I posted in there, whatever I tried to say in the optimistic attempt of engaging a conversation with them got inevitably flushed away among the spam.
It's like some secret Freemasonry society, they just give you the silent treatment

Circle jerk thread? Anyone posting anything nearly close to a rule 34 is immediately ordered to stop. We have had one incident like that, and one only.

In fact, most people have done quite a bit of drawing as well as writing, maybe if you actually looked on the thread OP, you'll find quite a bit of animation as far as people putting quite a bit of time into their work to display their fondness of the character.

At least this thread has not accused us of writing "rape fantasies" as other threads have.

They're terrorists.

Honestly, they're sort of ruining Tali for me. I feel like the Tali romance was designed for the most rabid fans of her, rather than people who just normally like her. I imagine this will continue to ME3.

But there's mostly some decent fanboyism there.  Whenever I've gone in there - I haven't looked at every page, but I've probably looked at a good three hundred or more (that was tedious) - there's been a tone that was a little more than I could stomach.  Maybe I just don't like her that much.  But honestly, I can't imagine liking anyone in real life that much.

Fan art is great.  I have one of those on my desktop even, and I also have Tali as my wallpaper on my iTouch.   It's just... meh.

While yes some people do have "creepy" comments, are you really going to be naive enough to believe you won't find those on the internet? Especially on two threads that span more than 1300 pages? I can say there are about...800 creepy comments.

Out of nearly 34,000 comments.

Seriously.

Still two achievements left : see the face, see her naked. :?

I used to enjoy Tali's company in ME1, she was always in my team, we chatted about Quarian's. Geth, the pilgrimage, everything. Life was sweet.

Then ME2 came. She basically took every conversation as an attempt to slide out of her suits and get her HOOFS in my bed.

Please, zoophilia's not my thing, bestiality is not my bag. I didn't grow up on a farm, I don't have sex with animals with hoofs and pincers. I chose the spacer start.

Added to that the Taliban on here with their extremely creepy love of a species of animal they've never seen, makes me feel very uneasy about Tali, seriously there is something WRONG with it.

So I never used her at all in ME2, unlike ME1. I secretly hoped she would die at the end, no such luck though. Let's hope she gets nothing more than a short cameo in ME3, the boards will be fun for sure if that happened.

Honestly, I really don't care about seeing her naked. The main thing that drew me to her was her personality. She's just so sweet and loveable, I couldn't help but want to give her a big hug

So, I hope they continue the relationship in ME3.

Dude, it's fandom. When there are fans, there will be eccentrics. Besides, from what I've seen, her fandom is still tame compared to other things. Also it's all played for fun. I think.

I don't get the Tali fixation. I find that accent irritating, although I haven't decided if it reminds me more of the Russian immigrant from Brighton Beach pushing her way through the subway car or the gypsy woman riding around with her husband looking to bang out dents in a parking lot or offering to blacktop your driveway. If I could fire off Mordin's incinerate on her, I'd die happy.

Why the **** does anyone care if we see her naked? I'm curious, it would be interesting, but I think some people have lost track of what they're saying about her. Or they're not mature enough to realize that seeing someone naked doesn't matter that much.

I guess I should blame the fact that the majority of guys are convinced that they don't really care about romance. As if no one should care about romance if you can't see them naked.

You know when I first did the Tali recruitment mission and saw the floating Tali image, I did not think much of it.  But then I read the Tali thread and then I played the game again and now I can just see that floating head image as holy grail for the faithful.

Nothing personal. I'm just sniping blindly at the crowd from this safe spot.

I loved Tali and all, I'm just annoyed by the turns Tali conversations tend to take.

And that's a lot of T's.

I don't want to see her naked. Some people you ask may say that, but don't generalize everyone into that category. I'm just interested to see what ANY kind of Quarian looks like. It just so happens that the most important Quarian in our thread did reveal herself, we just had no possible way of viewing the person. Which made half of us mad and half of us happy.

For all the people complaining how 'Talimancers' and 'those creepy threads' are somehow ruining a character, it's called avoiding the thread. No one's forcing you to read all the creepy posts about how they want to bed a fictional being. No one's forcing you to go to the Tali Love thread and read every single comment. Just ignore it and move on. This is what I don't get about people, they declare that these kinds of things 'ruin' a character, yet they don't seem to realize it's as simple as ignoring the comments.
