The Kaiden/Ash/Liara threads are just as creepy.

I prefer the Tali romance because its probably the sweetest and most genuine one to me of the series but that hardly makes me some kind of crazy person. I certainly haven't made more than like two or three post in the Tali thread.

Guys, if you don't like a thread, don't read it. It's that simple.

There also isn't a need to create 500687549 hate-threads every 15 seconds, generalising and personally attacking everyone who has a favourite character.

Why can't we just get along? We're all mass effect fans right?

Totally true. Yet since they have FAR fewer posts and posters, no one really goes into them.

Why the hell do only fans of tali get a bad rep? I'm sure there's other diehard fans of other characters but people only ever mention the Tali ones.

Why can't we just express our intrest in a fictional character? And before you make sweeping generalizations about nerd ****** to rule 34 **** know that we keep it clean over in the Tali thread. Try having some tolerence of other people. In a way we're all just giving credit to bioware for making such a well written game.

I will also say that people exaggerate the Talimania. Yes they have a massive thread but aside from the immediate post-game euphoria (I suppose that's a good name for it), its largely been contained in that thread.



People always say "Oh no the Talimancers will get you now" and you know what? I haven't seen it happen.

I think that 34'000 is the problem... Okay, I'm starting to sound like a jerk, but every damn topic gets completely overwhelmed, hijacked, eventually locked if not favorable. And every time someone opens a nice discussion on that poor Quarian, the thread is torn apart by zealots and trolls fighting pointlessly about the same crap over and over. Some threads run so fast it's impossible to reply, or have someone reply to you. Hell, not that I'm taking it seriously, it's just that I like being on these boards and I like conversation, when it's possible. So Tali is inevitably an off-topic subject and I'm on a ME board. It's just... annoying, especially considering the other LI/character boards have always been way more civil and enjoyable.

I'd really like to see these poor threads that are simply overwhelmed. There was some of that post-release but its seems to have largely died down. There's a lot of exaggeration going on.

I respect all religions equally, Williamanity, Mirandism, Garristo but is it wrong to point out that there are little more extremists in one religion.

Liara was considered by some people to be the best LI of ME1 and other people consider Tali to be the best LI of ME2.  So its the whole my girl is better than your girl thing.

Many Liara fans were unhappy with the way she was portrayed in ME2, and some of them go after Tali fans because there are so many of them, and they got what they'd been wanting since ME1.

The thing is that there's a little more EVERYTHING in the Tali fanbase, because it's so large.

Each adoration thread does have its own unique flavor doesn't it. The Tali thread can be stalker-ish at times. The Kaiden thread seems to be a lot of people drooling lustfully, the Liara thread seems like its about to launch some kind of armed resistance at any moment. :)

With the exception that there are much more anti-Tali/anti-Tali-fanbase threads than pro-Tali threads. Sweet irony, that there are so many threads complaining about a single big one.

Indeed the Tali fan base is eating all the other fan bases in the msn poll and still has room for more. Which brings me to another point, people don't like Tali because she tends to win polls on this site, like almost any poll in which she is mentioned, so people get sick of her.

We generally try to keep it clean there. Sure there are a few extremists but every group has them. We try to keep a good image but sometimes things get out of hand. Nothing I can do to stop it though I wish I could.

I don't even see where you're getting that from. In my opinion though, people should just leave the Tali fanclub alone. They aren't harming anyone discussing their stuff in their own threads. I just don't see where all the resentment comes from. It comes out of thin air. If you don't like them, don't read their threads. It's not rocket science.
