Why doesn't anyone seem to know my Shepard is biotic?

They really could have done a better job personalizing Shepard with having a Origin type story and or extra convos depending on your class. Would have been nice.

Shepard does have an origin story, it just gets swept under the rug in ME2.

Thats true but I was thinking more of playing like what DAO had. Of course I was pretty satisfied with it but when DA came out I felt it could have worked in the first.

Though they should have made classes more important.

Why are there no interrupts involving biotics?

I'd love to go all Samara on someone's ass.

The "assault rifle in cutscenes" thing has has always been a nitpick annoyance for me. Why can't you just give him/her a pistol?! Every class can use it and, IMHO, it looks cooler.

Oh, you mean like how my infiltrator is carrying an assault rifle in every single cutscene? Along with every single one of my crew? Yeah, those kind of inconsistincies are very annoying.

Really? My damn soldier Shep is carring a pistol in every cut sceen.

BTW, the good ol'Doc knows your a botic (even if your not), She makes a comment when discussing Kaiden, that L2 implants spike higher then L3, with the exception of Shepard's L3 implants. Wait, I didn't roll a Botic this time around. lol wut, doc?

Worth pointing out that DAO recognizes a character as a mage for certain Intimidate options. ("Are you sure you want to fight a mage?") Though DAO doesn't have the problem of having to script all the PC's lines.

I was quite happy when I saw Shepard pull out the correct weapon for once, but then notice my teammates would then use that same weapon even though they don't carry one...

Or when Shepard holsters the pistol in the same spot where the SMG is or something. Same goes for when teammates in cutscenes would holster their pistols/SMGs like assault rifles.

Then of course as mentioned everyone ignores Shepard as being a biotic if you picked the class spec. Is it so much to ask to make a threat using the blue glow instead of pulling out a weapon I don't even have!?

Its not a huge deal, but it can be quite annoying after a while.

Kaiden makes that comment... not the doctor.

er, no it really doesn't.
tbh though i'd just prefer every class to have access to the default weapons, if not the upgraded ones - problem solved. highly trained soldiers that can't use an assault rifle against the "deadliest threat mankind has ever faced"?

Because despite what the game may say on one of the splash screens, it does NOT respond to your class at all...Which I agree, is unfortunate. It would be great if in ME3 they remedied this

I definitely agree with this as a mainly adept player.

It bugs me that Shepard's biotics don't seem "canon" in that every other biotic character has an interesting backstory about how they became biotic, such as Jack with her Cerberus upbringing and Kaidan with his BAaT Camp stories. How did Shepard become biotic? When was (s)he exposed to element zero? It doesn't really make sense with some of Shepard's background options.

The reason they do it is this way (and it's insulting to an extent because Turbine is guilty of this too) is because believe it or not, they think the player base at large (meaning a good portion) arent smart enough to pick up on these little nuances so they think they can get away with it.  Dont get me wrong, Im a fan of BW's work but its just business really.

I don't really mind this as much as I do people sending BATARIANS to try and intimidate the freaking Butcher of Torfan.

That said, it is a bit annoying, yes.

Yeah that one is so annoying as well ... what is the problem with using the other side for SMG or Pistol instead of leaving it empty and having both SMG and Pistol in the same slot c'mon Bioware ...

And we should get some special interupts and dailog options depending on our class ... and they should fix the cuscenes with magicall assault rifles appearing from nowhere ...

I support this theard. B)

This thread speaks truly. Unfortunately, since this point was raised countless times over at the ME1 forums and we've seen no improvement in this regard as of ME2... I doubt it'll be addressed for the third game.

It's a real shame. Biotic interrupts and the like would be fantastic.

i always found it funny to have a biotic shep in ME 1 right at hte beginning "Kaiden has a hard time being an L2" "what's an L2?"

Wow, Shepard. Way to research your condition!

Shepard was an L3. Though it's still a stupid question for Shepard to ask either way, you're right.

Didn't notice this in ME1 as I always played as a soldier, but I turned my Shep into a Vanguard in ME2 and now see the light (even though it doesn't seem as much of an oversight as it is in the first game). Please address this in the next game, Bioware!

It would be nice to see varying interrupts depending on your class in ME3.

Like an adept would lift a guy to the ceiling and start interrogating him, but a soldier would bash his head in with the butt of his rifle to intimidate him. Or something.

From the rebuilding scene every Shepard gets installed with L5 implants, plus you'd have to anyway to pick Biotic powers as bonus powers. So it's not like any given Shepard wouldn't have a bit of juice.

Which reminds me, Shepard can learn Reave and Dominate. Those aren't telekinetic mass field manipulation powers by any stretch. Those are refinements of the asari melding physiology. Whether that's because Shepard is just that awesome (exposure to beacons, melding, the cipher), or it was just a case of "get cool powers from squadmates with no thought" I don't know.

SHEPARD: Quick Jacob, throw that krogan off the cliff behind him!
JACOB: Commander, you know I can only move things toward me.
SHEPARD: Oh yeah, I keep forgetting.  Because it doesn't make any f***ing sense.

I lol'd. Needs to be made a comic!
