Kaiden: "I ... killed a man with my biotics."
Shepard: "I know, Kaiden. I was standing right next to you when you did it."
Kaiden: "Oh, yeah. These L2 implants really mess with your head."
Shepard: "Obviously."

Not exactly what I was thinking...but yes, something along those lines!

or

Shepard: "What's an L2?"
Kaiden: "It's a sh*tty version of the L3, you know, like the implant you have."
Shepard: "Oh, yeah, right. I forgot. My L3 warranty must have expired."

Its also ridiculous when in one of the Elevator rides Garrus and Kaiden talk about L2 implants and how Kaiden's is so powerful, when even the weakest Biotic Shepard killed Kaiden's power in this regard.

I don't think Adept Shep would have been strong enough to hold the barrier.

A biotic human vs. Morinth I'm thinking equals defenseless.

Unless Cerberus used some of the subject zero research data to give Shep a bit of a biotic boost while installing his cybernetics?

My ME1 Shock Trooper Specialized Vanguard Shep could have easilly beat anyone in the barrier dept. That was his entire schtick. Could have done that no problem.

And yes Cerberus did give you a biotic boost on the rebuild. All the biotic sheps were fitted with L5 variant implants. The old one was an L3. (Read the descriptions when picking your class for details)

I'm glad Im not the only one noticing that the assault riffle youre not even carrying appear in your hands in some cut scenes. It would also be nice if it kept the weapon you were carrying out. Walking up to someone with a shotgun is much more intimidating than the pistol :P

Jack can hold the Barrier on the suicide mission. Shepards biotics are far ahead of her measley abilities. Shepard can hold the barrier.

This kind of stuff gets more and more annoying the more I think about it, so I'm going to another thread to /blissfulignorance on this topic.

I'm afraid you misunderstood me.   I'm talking no deaths on the final mission.  Miranda is considered to be a very powerful biotic by human standards and she can't handle the barrier duty.  Only Jack, the cerberus augmented "most powerful human biotic" and Samara, Asari Justicar, can pull off Barrier duty in the final mission.

When I was talking about a biotic boost, I wasn't  referring to a new implant.  I was referring to the testing done at the facility that created Jack.  They ran a number of rather extreme experiments to learn how to increase innate biotic abilities.

As another person said, while talking to Kaiden about his L2 implants in ME1 he makes a mention of how the L3 implants I have don't have that issue.  I looked sideways at him, since my character is an infiltrator... I guess Shepard just had L3 installed as part of his/her genetic engineering for Saviour of Humanity.

It did make me blink in ME2 during the reconstruction thing when you are having the L5 implants put in, I was wondering if they skipped L4, or if Cerberus had the latest tech that the Alliance didn't... Two versions better! (Of course, Jack then went off and got L5x implants...)

The Assault rifle in ME1 bothered me a lot, especially since it was me, Tali and Liara waving them about.  However in ME2 I never noticed my FemShep pull one out the wrong weapon... she was just waving around pistols (or maybe the SMG... they're much of a muchness)  So I'd been thinking this was fixed... oops!

Biotic/Tech interrupts would be something nifty... Imagine the scene with Garrus where you're sighting down on the mechs, and instead of it being a sniper shot, you hacked one... Of course, you'd need to have the hack skill first... Ah well ^^;

(The lone infiltrator in my local circle. Everyone else plays Biotic Stomp Merchants)

On the character builder, when you check the description, the specialty of the L5x implants that the Adepts get is described as being the ability to use Singularity (Vanguards get L5n implants to use Charge).  Yet Jack can't use it.  Why?

As people have noted. the canon is Male soldier. Every interaction in the game is clearly scripted around this. So if your female, biotic, etc, you simply won't make any specific use of those traits.

Lots of cut scenes would certainly go alot easier if your Shep could use your powers.

The timeline is a bit iffy for a biotic Shepard as well.

Kaiden 2151 Singapore "Accident"

Shep born 2154. how where you exposed? The second intentional exposure was much later. Did exposure at age 9 give you them?

2163 L1

2167 L2. Kaiden gets one at age 16. You don't at age 13?

2170 L3 at 16 you get this one appearently. Or maybe at 18 when you join the military.

Maybe because no one cares? There are so many biotics out there and everyone is surrounded by asari, who are born that way. And human biotics aren't rare, unlike salarian or turian.

So I find it normal for them to consider a human biotic something insignificant.

What do you want people to say to Shepard? "Biotic god, you grace us with your presence. We puny unimportant non-biotics bow before your bioticness."

Just fyi for the people questioning it.

L4 is project Ascension kids.

l5x is Cerb/military Adept

l5n is Cerb/military Vangaurd.

l2 being upgraded to l3 mentions potential for brain damage. suggesting normally implants can't be replaced. Yours are because you are dead already.

Jack should be a L3. It doesn't make sense her being an L5. unless you claim she was the test subject for L5 by Cerberus. And thus where the L5's came from. which is actually, possible.

From what I remember, human biotics actually were fairly rare.

Though you wouldn't know it from your squad setup.

Well, yeah, but a crack squad like Shepard has is gonna attract the 1337 psychic ninjas.

The only time he game makes a reference to biotic Shepard is in a conversation beteween Shepard and Kaidan, back on ME1, when Kaidan tells Shepard why he don't go back to surgery and put a L3... He says L3 (pain free) implants are weaker than L2's...Except for biotic Shepard, who L3's make him a stronger biotic than those using old L2's, like Kaidan.

Honestly, it would have been pretty sweet to have a few cutscene interrupts that depend on your tech/biotic/kill-fu specialty. Like maybe someone's talking to you at gunpoint, a soldier slaps the gun aside in a split second and then CQB's the crap out of them, a biotic throws up a barrier, grins, and then tosses them out a window, and when they go to shoot a techie, their gun jams, Shep makes a one-liner about how he/she did it, and then the enemy gets a taser in the face.

There's a potential for some unfortunate accidents in scenes where you're fending off waves of enemies with your weapon: namely if you had the Cain equipped before the start of the cutscene.

There is actually one instance where Liara knows you are a biotic. If Kaidan dies on Virmire, then in Mass Effect 3 Liara will talk about Kaidan's death and say "he was the only biotic besides you" if you are a biotic class and if you aren't a biotic class "she says he was the only biotic."

I've noticed that if I start a new Adept character Kaidan will mention Shepard being a biotic when on the Normandy, however if I import a NG+ or give an assault rifle as a bonus weapon (I've never tried the others so it could happen there as well) then the dialogue never occurs.
