You stoners know you can disable your squad members from useing powers in the options.

Granted you will have to control all thier abilitys, but lets face it, that's for the best anyways.

Wrong. You can only disable their offensive abilities. They will still use defensive abilities, like Barrier or ammo powers.

You don't get to make demands of the Bioware, Ambassador.

If you read the options screen you'll notice that you can't disable their defensive or ammo powers.  I may be high as a kite; but I can still read.

PS:  Did anyone else think that the Illusive man's smokes looked hand rolled?  I'm looking at my avatar pic right now and I swear he could be smoking a Jay.  Although you'd think the guy would be more laid back if that were the case.

I demand nothing merely request.  Bioware is for the most part relatively good at listening to consumer feedback.  Releasing a patch to address consumer complaints reassures the consumer that the company will fully support their product and improves the companies reputation.  Hence it is in the interests of the company to patch faults provided it can be done with a reasonable amount of effort.

Since I doubt the proposed patch would prove prohbitively difficult, I believe its reasonable for the consumer to expect this issue to be addressed.  At present I have a very good opinion of Bioware; however that reputation must be maintained.

While I hope your right I won't be at all surprised if bioware simply says this is how the game was intended (as stupid as it is) and leaves it at that, wouldn't be the first time... *cough  helmet toggle *cough

Ah, lol, well it can be hard to tell sometimes, didn't notice the period after 'it' the first time, kind of gives it a more sarcastic feel now.

Good Luck, from the looks of things Bioware have no intention of patching anything not even bugs in the game.

BioWare's 'customer service' is truly horrendous. I have never seen another company of this caliber so diametrically opposed to fixing simple bugs and poor design choices in their games.

The creed of "fix it yourself" is truly insulting, especially for console gamers who have to rely on patches from BioWare to get these fixes.

It does seem an odd disparity that they excel at incorporating user feedback when they're making a new game and yet once that game is out they're so damned slow when it comes to fixing the bugs their customers complain about.

The cynic in me would say that they cease to give a damn once they have our money; but that doesn't follow since Bioware's success has been built upon maintaining a reputation for excellence.  Hence allowing easily rectified bugs to undermine their reputation is contrary to their financial interests, although it is possible that the powers that be fail to recognize the importance of customer support.

I think its just that Bioware is always working on a million projects at once (at present  ME2 DLC, ME3, Dragon Age DLC, Dragon Age 2, The Old Republic, and god knows what else) and so they can't rationalize diverting resources to squashing bugs.   But; these bugs aren't the sort of problems that recquire extraordinary creativity or skill to rectify, so there's no reason why they couldn't just outsource it.  As I see it if they plan to use ME2 as a platform for future DLC (which I will happily purchase) then they should work the kinks out of the core mechanics first.

Edit: The last time checked Bioware is working on anywhere to 3 to four games at once, add to that an unknown number of unannounced games, and an unspecified amount of dlc and your looking at a company streched thin, so them taking longer to acknowlegde and fix bugs, which actually is harder than it seems as they have to pretty much check everything in the code for conflicting data and what not to fix something small, is understandable.

Well for me they don't so much fight over ammo as just equip them, and if you don't micromanage your squad, which for me seems to work better, having it enabled will cut the bug off as using offensive powers takes providence over their ammo making them less likely to fight over ammo in a firefight.

I hear what you're saying, it's just frustrating that they can't find SOMEONE to fix these really simple and very annoying issues.

The best option I've found is just to not teach them any ammo powers if at all possible.  Unfortunately since unlocking a loyalty power automatically puts a point into it, Garrus, Jack and Thane will start screwing up their ammo as soon as you get them loyal.  Thane is particularly annoying since his Shredder ammo is bar none the most worthless ability in the game and even though Garrus and Jack have very useful ammo powers, they're not ideal in every situation plus you probably don't want to invest in their ammo powers if you already invested in squad ammo so their low level ammo will also be relatively weak in comparison to your level 4 ammo.

NOTE:  Jacob also seems to always have a point invested in Inferno ammo when you pick him up, so for four out of 11 squad members its invariably going to be a problem.

But as I said enabling squad power usage prevent this from happening in a firefight.
