Can we please get a patch to disable our squad from automatically
equipping their ammo powers?  Cause I really didn't invest in squad
ammo just so one of my squadmates would continually reequip a vastly
inferior ammo every time.   I mean Thane's Shredder ammo is completely
worthless and yet he equips it over whatever ammo I want him to use
every time,

Yes, I know that having more than one squadmember with squad ammo is incredibly annoying, even though Shredder Ammo is far from worthless.

I agree that squaddies shouldn't change their ammo unless you tell them to do so. Ammo should also be persistant from a save to a load. On top of that, I find the "holographic" projection on your weapon, showing what ammunition you have with an icon, incredibly distracting. The color alone should be enough for anyone who's not a complete tool.

problem is the color for ap and shredder is similar so that wouldn't quite work.

And you really have a problem keeping track of what ammo is active, if you don't have an obstructive icon in your field of view at all times?

An option to disable the holographic ammo display would be nice.  Personally I'm not a fan of the look of it and I'd be happy with a more subtle indicator or even none at all since I keep track of what ammo I'm using.  Besides even if I forgot what ammo I'm using I can always check the power wheel or just observe the bullets I'm unleashing.   But I've pretty much gotten used to it at this point, so its not really a priority for me.

There are a ton of little tweaks I'd love to see added to the game; but when I make requests of Bioware I try to prioritize the most impactful ones.  If we as consumers flood them with a million different requests then the most needed changes just get lost in the crowd.  However; if enough people get behind a needed patch then they might take notice and actually do something.  That's the hope anyway and thats why I started this thread.

This is definitely an issue that annoys me to no end. It interferes with my group tactics and undermines what is otherwise a vastly improved combat system.

A piece of advice for people who don't want their allies overriding the squad ammo you choose for them. I was playing tonight and I noticed that your allies don't seem to override your ammo with theirs until after the first time you order them to use their ammo. So if you don't want them override your ammo, never order them to user their ammo, not even once; because once you do that's the only ammo they'll be using from then on.

God yes, I screw something up everytime and start kicking myself.  This time I planned everything out ahead of time and wrote it all down and did everything according to plan; but I just looked over the powers again and now I'm not happy with the way I planned out Tali.   I'm very appreciative of the fact that I can reallocate my powers; but now that I can it just makes the innability to re-spec my squad's powers all the more irritating.

Nevermind doesn't work.  It seemed to on one mission; but I just saw Thane using that damned Shredder ammo again so I guess there's no way to stop the dumb bastards, a  patch for this crap sure would be nice.

I messaged Bioware simply asking if they had any plans to patch this in the future and got no reply whatsoever; which is frankly pretty damned rude considering the amount of cash I've thrown down for their games over the years.  To date I've purchased KOTOR ($50), Jade Empire ($50), the ME1 Collector's Edition ($70), Dragon Age: Origins ($60), and the ME2 Collector's Edition ($70).   One would think that $300 would buy you some ****ing customer service; but apparently not.

This is some real bushleague bull****.

I agree it should be persistent from save to a load. It gets very annoying activating it all over again.

Ah yes, "squad ammo." The most annoying power evolution your allies can have. We have demanded a patch for these claims.

Definitely need this patched. I turn off squad powers for a reason, because the squad wouldn't know timing and strategy if you slapped them in the face with said concepts.

I want to little hologram icon to stay, though. I think it looks cool.

You can work around it. Jacob starts with incendiary rounds, the rest wont get the ammo upgrades automatically until their loyalty quests. You can delay the quests or only use the member when you want the ammo type.

Annoying, but far from game breaking.

Edit:  Can you edit the hechmen powers?  If so you could simply remove them.
OK, I just took a look.  It does appear with some tinkering you could prevent Garrus's and Jacks abilities from being triggered.

What do you expect?  They have our $$$.  I'd honestly fall off my damn chair if they did anything about this.

Agreed, not much point to having squad ammo if they end up doing whatever the hell they want is there.

I just discovered the beauty of squad cryo ammo on my 2nd vanguard playthrough here, and I agree with the rest of you this needs fixed, cause squad cryo isn't very useful when your allies keep equiping there own ammo, over the one I gave them.

Zaeed does what he wants.  If you've got the quads, let him know it pisses you off.  I don't expect your Shep to come through that one with anything more than a skull cavity.

I wish I found this sooner, I thought why give myself warp ammo when ammo powers are the only reliable squad powers on insanity. They cannot survive long enough for their powers to recharge, so I thought, if I have disrupter, jack has squad warp and Garrus has squad AP I could use dominate when I run out of widow ammo. It drove me crazy on geth missions when jack overrides my disrupter, or garrus insists on AP on collector missions. My best characters are even more useless since they're constantly activating their ammo instead of even shooting. If someone thought hard enough to give us a repec option, why can we ONLY respec Shepard?

It really does seem really silly that they would not think "Hmm You know, we have this fancy Squad Ammo Option. It be a really dang shame to make it so that if the AI's for the Squad Members wasn't smart enough to leave on the Squad Ammo instead of there own Ammo type. Lets make it so they are smart enough to not change ammo types unless told."

Yeh, its really surprising they DIDN'T have that conversation. Or worse if they DID, and decided they didn't need to do that...

Really not sure what is worse.

Would be nice if this was fixed in addition to being able to respec squad mates through something similar to the Retrain Powers upgrade.
