I've pretty much been a lurker here but this problem is frustrating me. I have DA:O, all three expansions, updated to latest patch, no toolset installed. I am trying to do the Return to Ostagar DLC, visited the guy in the forest, from there went to my camp and then clicked on Ostagar. Along the way I got into a random battle with darkspawn, Wynn was in my party and fainted, said she wasn't feeling alright. Clicked on the exit, back on the map, the red blood trail starts to move then kicks me back to the main menu saying Unable to load area.

I've tried quitting the game and restarting, starting from a different save, and it keeps kicking me out.

Can anyone help? I can't find an answer to this problem.
By the way, I'm on Win7, 64 bit, 4 gigs of ram, Intel GM4500.

This is like the 10th bug/issue I've had with this game. If this keeps up, they're losing a paying customer.

I'd try reinstalling Return To Ostagar.

I just beat the game and started a new one as a Dalish Elf. I'm in ostagar, and being sent out to fetch the Darkspawn blood. But when I try to go to the Wilds, it won't load. . . wtf? Anything I can do? I thought it might have something to do with the dlc but not sure. . .

jess you might try defragging and if you have video set at max you could try turning settings down.Also if you don`t like windows defrag there is a program called defraggler that`s a whole lot faster plus you can defrag only the files you want.You could also uninstall any mods if you have any .and if all else fails reinstall although there is no guarantee on that either

 I bought the ultimate edition this week on sale on steam. I had issues with the DLC being authorized, but have fixed that, although now I have run into the issue with the Unable to load area error while trying to go to Ostagar on the map.  WTF

No one adding comments to this thread has ever wanted to provide enough information to do much of anything with. the very first person's system did not meet the minimum requirements, so even without more information, it was fairly likely his video chip's fault. Very simply put, you offer no useful information for the readers here, then you get no useful information back. Seems simple enough to me. Please follow the Read First guideline:
