Oh God it gets worse.

EDI has reaper tech installed on her, it's how she's so powerful and able to hack collector tech throughout the game. Installed from salvaged parts from Sovereign. Normandy SR-2 is a reaper.

Saren flew around the Galaxy in Sovereign. Shepard flies around the Galaxy in Sovereign 2.0 now with a sexier voice box.

lmao, its a horrible thought, but it seems Saren 2.0 has been born. I also enjoy how Paragon Shep gets utterly screwed.

Finally the renegade path pays off, aside from all the fun we had on hte way of course. :)

Why does that sound awfully familar?

Now this is the truth. I have a feeling in ME3 we will be in the same spot Saren was minus the indoctrination, that Sheperd will be declared rogue or something...full circle.

You know what......
Thats actually not a bad idea, I suppose a subplot in ME3 could have a spectre hunting Shepard while he tries to stop the Reapers. (just thinking out loud here)

Doesn't really make much sense given your party members in me2, 1 your party members were mainly nobodies.

in 2, would the salarian call mordin (keep in mind, he still had stg influence to lock people out of the genophage research)  rogue? would the asari claim a justicar went rogue? the turian may be a schmuck, but he's not a dictator.

If you were still working for Cerberus at the end and went back to operating in Citidel Space, they'd have all the reason they needed to send another Spectre after you.

i feel retarded for just now making this connection.

Yeah I feel that way too. The finishing touch in ME3 would be that you can defeat the Reapers by planting a virus in their network, but it could only be done by bringing one with you to the Citadel!

I never realised Shep was slowly becoming Saren, but it is dependant on the choices you make. Whereas saren used those to help the Reapers, the Geth are choosing themselves to fight the Reapers whilst the Rachni are doing what they want. Shepard isn't making them do anything, they are doing it by choice and they could possiblybe better doing do. It is not a cure for the genophage, it's still unfinished. Give Mordin a couple of years then maybe you could have a cure. DId Saren actually have a cure? As far as I know he was growing clones but no sign of an actual cure IIRC. Even that Krogan doctor (Image IPB) you kill seemed t hint at a work in progress.

Shepard= Saren, OMFG well if thats the case, where the **** is my hoverboard lol. I reckon my paragon Shep will have to unite the whole galaxy, and i want the turian council member to be straped to the front of my ship when we charge the reaper, and have him do his little 'ahhh, reapers' and do his hand singnal **** then XD

OK... This is a long shot. The Council is not on your side, but TIM isn't either. At least in my game we didn't separate on friendly terms. Even Miranda abandoned him. So, you don't have backup anymore. The only backup I can think of would be... drum roll... the Shadow Broker. He or his organization must be filthy rich and have access to information nobody else has. He would be the only one able to supply Shepard with the resources he need and he would have a simple reason to do so: Self interest. If the reapers win then he loses his business. I don't think I have a playthrough in which I helped him, though. Hmmm.

But why would Shepard side with the Shadow Broker, especially after he tried to sell his/her dead body to the Collectors?

That's my theory. That said, Saren also thought himself the hero of the galaxy; saving us from the Reapers. Makes you wonder, doesn't it?

Plus the cybernetic implants we get...

Indeed.  I basically told a friend as he was watching me play the intro that in this game that I will become Saren.

I think you guys are over theorizing the story.
Shepard is just creating allies against the reapers where ever he/she can.

The things you did like rewriting the geth will probably just be a sub-plot mission in ME3 with the quarians, war or not.  And you havnt actually cured the krogan genophage at the end of ME2, even if we did it'll probably just be a step toward civilizeing the krogans (especially if you saved Wrex).

Saren and Shepard aint the same. Saren surrendered, he gave up. I'm not sure under what terms he joined with sovereign, but that is definatly different from how Shepard do things, he fights, really fights, to the end.. Saren - Shepard, Giving up - Fighting to the end

Good eye spotting this though OP.

Those are completely different circumstances. Shadow Broker aiding the Collectors, so the Reapers ultimately, by wanting to sell Shepard's body vs militant Cerberus cells as very minor players in the first game? Not going to side with the Shadow Broker imo.

Great thread, some neat ideas here.

What if BioWare went DeusEx at the end of ME3? One of the endings for the trilogy might be Reapers winning, Shepard joining them. Why not? If you killed the rachni, destroyed half of the geth, pissed off Asari, Salarians and Turians by letting the council in ME1 die, krogans etc. etc. etc. it'd be pretty weird to kick Reaper's asses anyway. Not much of an impact would those choices make... but if they include a totally different ending for such path, like losing, or joining up with the enemy (like *DeusEx spoiler for that one guy who didn't play it* merging with Daedalus in DeusEx *end*) and if they add Ashley/Kaidan hunting down Shepard like he hunted down Saren, that'd be epic.

ME3 can't come soon enough :S

This is true, but for future non shep stories, i'd put money on paragon shep being the lore, renegade in this game seems so mundane and undeveloped, it was frustrating to even try it.  It's nothing at all like a SW game in terms of any rewards for being on the "negative" side, and I suppose that is deliberate, as being an ass in this sort of scenario doesn't lead you to any sort of "hidden dark power".

Thats true. I was hoping Renegade Shep could make much more credits that Paragon Shep, but so far I have only identified 10-15k credits extra through being Renegade. I thought my Renegade Shep would be able to extort cash from those Salarian construction workers, or demand more pay from the Kirosa Salarian or the Travel Bureaucracy Asari. Sadly, I have only identified giving evidence to Pitne For and selling out Ish to Anto as extra renegade cash opportunities.

It would have been a nice way to balance out the play-styles. Paragon Shep has friends and allies, while Renegade Shep has money and influence.
