Also note that you have convinced a powerful (influential?) Asari matriarch to join you and she is now utterly devoted to your cause. Unless she was killed fighting her own daughter, oh wait. . . .

Oh, crap.

Rachni:  check
Geth:  check
Krogan Cure:  check
Asari Matriach:  check.

Uh....

I'm just going to say this.

If I have to become the bad guy to save the galaxy then so be it.

If I have to be killed the councils specters ("good guys" then so be it.

But one way or another I'm taking that turian counciler down with me before I go.

Ah, but we're doing things a bit differently. We're with the free geth, after all. The uncorrupted rachni... The genophage can be given to the Urdnot Clan who, under Wrex, seem to be trying to fix what's wrong with the krogan so they stop being locusts on every planet...

That is true, but will an outside observer see the difference? Espetially the Council, which is notorios for their blindness?
I won't be too suprised to see a young Spectre being sent to stop Shep one day)

I dunno, I kinda like the idea of Alenko/Williams and T'Soni being sent after you and you have to persuade them to join you to rule the galaxy as.... well father and son isn't going to work here...

Shepard: There's still good in you, I know it!
Saren: Maybe you're right... maybe there is still a chance for... for... GRRRRAAAAUUUGH. The implants, Sovereign is too strong! I am sorry. It is too late for me.
Shepard: No, father! We can fight this together!
Saren: Goodbye, Shepard. Thank you. I'm so proud of you.

Isn't it?  But then I remember Kaiden dumped me on Horizon and I go offer the job to Garrus/Thane/Jacob... ;)

Hey, a human and turian ruling the galaxy.... makes sense, right?

Spirits are NOT an option in Mass Effect, just like time-travel, it's plain retarded.

Mass Effect is a naturalistic series. The only god(s) in Mass Effect would be the reapers, they're kinda like 'gods' (but not really).

No, spirits and spiritual stuff like 'the afterlife' would work in Star Wars, but not Mass Effect.

Except that it's the turians' primary religion? They don't believe in gods or demons, but that places, things, and people have spirits. They believe these spirits can't directly affect the world, but that they can be invoked to inspire the living to greatness, whether through luck, courage, etc. Nobody ever said anything magical would happen, only that Saren might become a vaunted name in turian spiritualism in ME3, if you got him to "redeem" himself.

The council will probably state that Shepard is uniting a fleet, even the geth, waving the "ah yes the reapers" menace. Said that even TIM would have a good part of enjoyment seeing half of the races in the galaxy fighting to death with mankind as the only race who can give some kind of balance.

I think we're going to have to fight indoctrination in ME3. I have a feeling that the renegade ending will be to join the reapers and the paragon ending will be to defeat them.

This thread makes me think the saying "There is a fine line between genius and insanity" is really quite relevant to this story line (and which way you fall)

Council has to unite, If they do, I dont see how I cant beat the Reapers.

Saved Wrex.

Saved the Rachni.

Saved the Council.

Rewrote the Geth.

Have Genophage cure data almost 100 percent ready to use.

Have contacts within the Migrant Fleet (Tali, Kal Reegar, Veetor, that one Admiral who is against war with the Geth.)

Basically best friends with Hackett who holds a ton of leverage in the Alliance.

Basically best friends with Councilor Anderson who holds a ton of leverage in the Alliance.

Even if we dont win, We are going to give the Reapers hell.

The other difference between Shepard and Saren is that Saren was indoctrinated and was only able to see the error of his ways in the end. Indoctrination can be fought, but I'm not sure if it can be totally defied.  Would be interesting to see if it could, though.

Another possible similarity is that you may have Matriarch Benezia's daughter in tow.  Hell, she may even be your lover.  The council would  sh*t a brick.

As others have said, mix this in w/ a bit of DA:O and there's the plot for ME3.

I think so too, but I would hope that P/R points are not the only thing that will come into play.

Not the ending of Dragon Age though.

I DO want a Heroic ending where Ash, Shep and Garrus are holding a line to detonate a huge bomb at Reaper HQ and die doing it, But I dont want that to be the only ending.

I want an ending where you can become a Reaper, and I want an ending where you can beat the Reapers (with various friends killed, because, lets face it, thats what happens in war.)

I want an ending where you can go to a Paradise world with youre LI and be happy. Shep earned it.

The similarities between paragon Shepard and Saren are pretty amazing. Geth, Rachni, Genophage cure, sentient ship, asari matriarch, and trying to save the galaxy.

It would be pretty awesome if in ME3, paragon Shepard gets labeled an enemy of the council, yet renegade Shep stays on the councils good side. It would be awesome, since on the surface, it's the opposite of what you'd expect.

OK... This is a long shot. The Council is not on your side, but TIM isn't either. At least in my game we didn't separate on friendly terms. Even Miranda abandoned him. So, you don't have backup anymore. The only backup I can think of would be... drum roll... the Shadow Broker.

Oh, COME ON people.   LIARA???  She's going to be the new shadow broker!
