I have a cure from the genophage.
Why does that sound awfully familar?

Wow, I never really thought about that before, but its true! lol I wonder if anyone will point this out in ME3? I think it would be interesting if the council notices this, declares Shepard has gone rogue, and then he saves their asses. Again.

OMG that totally blew me away, I like the way your brain works

So if Shepard is the new Saren then who will be the new Shepard? maybe Garrus, I've heard some people think he'll become a spectre.

Doubtful. Even if he eventually does earn Spectre status, Garrus is far too loyal to Shepard to betray her/him. Of all the original crew he was the only one willing to follow Shepard back into hell without a second thought. Besides, he's seen the Reapers, the Collector base. He knows it's all true.

I can almost picture the future teaser of ME3:

Accessing Citadel files...

Opening Commander Sheppard's profile...

Known associates: Garrus Vakarian, Mordin Solus, CERBERUS.

Status: WANTED

Spectre in charge of the case: classIFIED

I'm kind of hoping they do something like this now.

Heh, and yesterday I only drew the link between their geth armies. Should've seen this as well.

I can imagine the Virmire survivor being the Spectre trying to catch you.

Those are completely different circumstances. Shadow Broker aiding the Collectors, so the Reapers ultimately, by wanting to sell Shepard's body vs militant Cerberus cells as very minor players in the first game? Not going to side with the Shadow Broker imo.

The shadow broker had no idea the collectors were working for a reaper, and didn't think Shepard was going to be necessary to bring back.  Cerberus assassinated alliance military leadership and murdered their soldiers and abducted them to perform experiments on.

Well, remember, we thought that about the ME1 LI's too, but they are fairly antagonistic towards Shepard now.

Now this is the truth. I have a feeling in ME3 we will be in the same spot Saren was minus the indoctrination, that Sheperd will be declared rogue or something...full circle.

I want to go rouge!!! Can my renegade interupt be like all
Turrian Counceler "Sheaperd you are dumb. There are no Reapers!"
Shpeaperd *Please pull the trigger
You pull the trigger
Sheaperd flies and lands his fist into the side of the turrian's head.
EDI "Sheaperds gone rouge! Take him down!"

While the Pragon Sheaperd would still be thinking about the galaxys best interest, and probably sacrefice themselves at the end of the game, being hatted as a rouge Specter, the Renegades would have the option to join the Reapers.

I also want to fight my way out of the Cidatel like how ME 1 should have had when they lock down your ship.

Are you referring to Kohaku?  As he was working for/with the Shadow Broker he's a traitor, hardly a good example of an Alliance leader.

But there was no betrayal.  And they send you a followup email apologizing, or in the case of Liara show their loyalty through action.

Cerberus cells will recruit anyone, whatever their moral fiber, if they can get a certain job done.  Some people seem to be forgetting that about Cerberus.  There is no moral standing for Cerberus' agenda besides survival - there is none for the Shadow Broker's except information trade.

Yeah I kept getting that feeling throughout ME2 that I was slowly being placed into the same spot Saren was--difference is that I am not working with the Reapers and I haven't given up on trying to convince others of the Reaper threat like Saren did. I mean, once we come to the Council with our Krogan/Geth/Rachni army (if thats what the player has indeed choosen) how will they view us but anything other then a new Saren?

More like when they arrive at the last possible minute to save what is left of the Citadel defences, someone will say "there are Geth, Krogan and Rachni ships jumping in" someone else will say something like "hold formation and wait for them to get into range" pause for dramatic effect then get a reply along the lines of "they aren't moving in on the citadel, they're engaging the reapers". Kinda like how you changed the outcome of the battle over the Rakata Space Station in KOTOR by your choices.

or something like that...

A thought that came to mind from reading some of the discussions here:

From what Liara indicated the Shadow broker was pretty interested in Shepards body and getting it into Collector hands.

He's also got his fingers into many things, pulling strings from behinds the scenes, very resourceful, many agents, tons of knowledge

There's a mention that it couldn't be one person, perhaps it's a group of people acting together...

...or maybe it's another Reaper keeping an eye on the organics and performing long term subtle manipulations to suit their goals...

I can't recall, if it was all Saren's doing, but I believe the Shadow broker was mentioned in ME1 when Tali was trying to get her info about Saren to the Shadow broker. Fist set her up with Saren instead of the Shadow Broker as she wanted..could there have been more of a tie in with Saren and the Shadow Broker even then or just Fist working for Saren alone?...he was a Shadow Broker agent, did Saren turn him, or were they already on the same side...

I always expected that ME3 will deal with Shepard fighting and eventually succeeding at resisting (or not) indoctrination.

The similarities between paragon Shepard and Saren are pretty amazing. Geth, Rachni, Genophage cure, sentient ship, asari matriarch, and trying to save the galaxy.

It would be pretty awesome if in ME3, paragon Shepard gets labeled an enemy of the council, yet renegade Shep stays on the councils good side. It would be awesome, since on the surface, it's the opposite of what you'd expect.

Agreed. That would be awesome and deliciosly ironic.
Unfortunately, now that we've figured it out, I doubt that BioWare would use this idea.

I purposely made it so I had as few potential allies as possible, so that when I save the whole fcking galaxy, I'll be able to look at that damn Turian councilor and say, "Ah, yes, 'Reapers'."

I killed Wrex, check.

I killed the Rachni, check.

I blew up the Heritic Geth, check,

I told Cerberus to screw off, check.

I did happen to save the cure for the Krogan though, but only because I was sad I killed Wrex... he was my bro.

I managed to do all of this and be over 80% Paragon too :3. My Sheps a goody-two-shoes hero, but he achieves that by kicking ass and chewing bubble gum.

The moderaters have just informed the writers. Everyone currently in the Bioware studio is currently in the facepalm position muttering, "Well crap. Back to square one. Damn those meddling forumites!"
