What signed my death warrent is her speech of watching you when you fight Saren, the Rachni, and had to sacrifice Kaiden/Ashley, that she watched you the hole time and had to see your face and ever wondered if you will ever past 'this'. It was hard to decide who swooned harder, my Shep or me!

I also cannot forget another of her speeches, back in ME1. It connected to this one so well, I got completely sold on the way BioWare connected it all.

First time you meet, in Udina's office, you even get a chat with her in ME2 about it. Once you get the data from her she insists you take her with her. "What kind of a person would it make me, if I turn my back on this?" followed by "Thanks. You won't regret this." once asked to join you.

Everyone else in ME1 joined for thir own personal reasons on top of the threat. Tali just relized how much your mission matters and decides to forgo her own pilgramage for it.

It's like the opposite of the turian councilor. :D

You'll probably get different reasons from different people. But here are my reasons:

1) She was loyal, and stood by Shep when others could have but chose not to. (Not including Wrex here, he obviously could not.)

I believe Liara was the only one who never gave up on Shepard and outright refused to believe he was dead and then of course when found out he was dead tried to bring him back. That's loyalty. Tali, Wrex, Garrus and Kaidan/Ashley all just moved on with their lives like literally nothing happened.

Fortification activated.

Like nothing happened!? Kaiden needed therapy and took him like almost two years to even go out on a date (if ME1 LI). Ashley not sure about. But both are soilders, they are used to the life of loosing their mates. Garrus becomes a bad ass Vigilant (partially in your honour), Wrex is Krogan, he probably drank some Ringhol, said it was a good death, and decided to UNITE the Krogan people because YOU taught it to him. Tali probably realised she had feelings for you and did her best to get on with her duties. When she sees you are still alive goes into such a deep pinning mode, every other journal of hers on her recruit mission talks and fawns over you (if you are a male Shepard). Otherwise she had to go back to the Migrant fleet, her life had to go on (she still shows dedication to a fem Shepard).

For added awesome, wait until you've romanced Tali and then take her to the Presidium and activate her Citadel 'talk spot'. It's sweet.

Heh, yeah, I remember that now. She willingly joins you. No strings attached. Heck even in ME2 she implies she will do so again but she on a mission for the Admiralty Board. As in she was ready to do so again. The only reason she did not is her loyalty to her people. You can't fault her for that. Add in that on said mission that took her away she spends every audio journal fawning over you and even saying she should have joined you then.

Ashley not sure about.

Ashley indirectly hints that she was near suicidal in first year after your 'death' if she was your LI. And only recently started to get her life back on track again when you show up.

I mentioned that. ^_^ The way she says "interesting" is strangely enticing, innit?

I have to say that she isn't vulnerable at all, nor is Tali socially awkward except when it comes to love (Garrus is awkward there too, and no one can deny that he's a badass).

Tali is broken up about the death of her father, but I'd hope that everyone would be if they saw their dad lying dead in front of them.

She's been well-written from the start, the Quarians as a whole are a very sympathetic group (lost their home, even if it was due to their own stupidity, now wandering the galaxy), she has an obvious close connection with Shepard (again, tied to the writing), there's a certain mystery to her because of the suit, and Liz Sroka's voicing of her is cute as a button.

Well my last forum post was an epic fail. Yes i'll admit my mistakes and not try to be and "Internet Toughguy". I just want to know why she is loved so much.

I'm speaking as a non-fanatical Tali fan here, which is to say that I do not keep up with that massive thread, mention her at every turn, read or write fanfics or create fanart, and I like all the other characters too.  I'll try and articulate this as well as I can.

There are two main reasons.
- First, she is a strong and distinctive character.  She is voiced very well; she has a lot of emotion and her accent is appealing.  Her character isn't demure, or helpless, and she is dedicated to you as a friend.
- Second is the way the romance progresses.  She is like the trusted best friend who you discover has feelings for you.  For many people, including myself, this is the closest to what I would consider ideal in real life as well.  I would want the person I'm involved with to be my best friend also.  It is the most natural relationship in the game.

A great number of people complained about the LI's in ME1 being too shallow -- that you hardly had any dialogue with them before they were seemingly willing to jump in the sack with you.  Maybe 3 or 4 conversations, many of which were no deeper than you'd have with someone that you were just getting to know as a friend.  Tali, on the other hand, is the opposite of that.  She has already been with you for a whole game.  You get to know her and her people, and help her on profoundly important personal quests, more than once.  You go through her pilgrimmage with her in ME1, and then her trial and the death of her father in ME2 before she admits to having feelings of trust and romantic admiration.

Why? Because she's a geek girl with a shotgun, a cool voice, and an awesome personally. Whats not to like (though I'll be screaming in horror if she has Cthulhu's face under their).

hips + shotgun

really though, i attribute the Tali love to her being a thoroughly excellent character. Her script was great, her voice acting is great and her skill template is great. I liked Tali's skill sets in ME1 more than ME2, I don't have a lot of patience for AI hacking in ME2 since there are so few bots, and I also really dislike the drones, so sadly, I don't use Tali as much as I did in ME1.

In ME2 though, if you look at Tali's content, her recruit mission is a huge combat sequence with alec freaking baldwin's life hanging in the balance. Then you get to do the Tali loyalty mission, which is a HUGE feature for Quarian fans in general because they get to see the Floatilla.   Players get one of the best cinematic dialogue scenes in the game with her trial and a great fight sequence on the Alerai.

In ME1, Tali's content wasn't as robust as in ME2, but she still had the UNC geth incursion/pilgrimage data sidequest. The more content you give a character and the more depth you give them, the more likely people will find reasons to like them. Tali was a pretty well developed character in ME1 and even more thoroughly developed in ME2.

Its sort of easy to see why she is so loved tbh.

True up to the point that it was Adam Baldwin, not Alec.

But then again, what do I know, I just shoot stuff.

Reasons to like Tali [compared to other women in game]:

-- Sweet accent [only one with much of an accent]
-- She is way exotic [sometimes not knowing is more enticing than too much knowledge]
-- Silly curvy in many of the right places
-- Mysterious
-- Vulnerable
-- Sweet, sensitive, and tough when needed
-- She's the only one that was willing to stand by him when the others were "too busy"
-- She had legit excuses not to hop into the sack before the final mission
-- She might actually like Shepard for who he is instead of what he is

Disclaimer: I married a sweet foreign lady that can be tough when need be so my tastes are obvious.

Same reasons for me...

but one is missing:

-- the Geth/Quarian Story is very similar to the (new) Battlestar Glactica series, which is my most favourite series   EVAR

In ME1 I was totally disappointed, that seh wasn't a romance ( I guess she wasn't completly mature then and this would make Shepard appear... pedophile? :?) So, she was my first choice, when I found out, that she is a romance in ME2...

But all these fangirls (or -boys) are driving me nuts...
Miranda was too "hell yeah Imma easy girl, DO ME NOW!!!" and Jack is a little bit too insane for me, so I think the romance with Tali is the one with the most "love in the air"
