Honestly I don't know why Liz Sroka isn't bigger name out there. Her talent as a VA is just incredible and she managed to put much more to Tali character than if they'd just put some generic seductress there. You can hear the sarcasm and emotions in her voice, you don't have to figure it out from the dialogue.
After this, she might be bigger.

Tali is the naughty librarian every middle class male dreams about. A sexually repressed creature trapped in a shell. The model of propriety on the outside with the hunger of a 15th centuray hindu sex goddess trapped just benieth the surface.
In other words hawt.

I will agree for a character without a real face, you can feel the emotion in her words and the digital acting is top notch. Liz Sroka did a hell of a job making Tali feel like a believable person/individual.dou_ wrote...

Her dialogs are what sells me the most, her interaction between Shepard and her as the romance kindles get me every time.
"Captain's Orders..." it gets me every time. Her response is also very classic. Her ability to go from nervous and uncertain to sultry wild cat is amusing and just steals the scene every time.

Ain't that the truth...
And if they don't just froth at you like a Tazmanian Devil they go for the pseudo-intellectual character assassination. Almost tragic

#1 Her voice is amazing which is solely attributed to Liz Sroka's acting. She displays a wide range emotions and never falls flat.
#2 Her personality, she is shy, loving, and loyal while at the same time being proud and independent. She displays common feminine traits without displaying weakness or dependency which are stereotypically associated with femininity. At the same time while being strong willed she never displays any traits associated with masculinity unlike Ashley.
#3 Her figure, discounting any alien traits her figure is one of traditional beauty, much like female Shepard, she has strong legs and large hips which are symbols of fertility and easy child bearing.

In ME1, Tali's content wasn't as robust as in ME2, but she still had the UNC geth incursion/pilgrimage data sidequest. The more content you give a character and the more depth you give them, the more likely people will find reasons to like them. Tali was a pretty well developed character in ME1 and even more thoroughly developed in ME2.
Its sort of easy to see why she is so loved tbh.
I agree. But the same applied to Garrus. If Wrex and Liara had carried over from ME1 to ME2 as team members then the situation would no doubt have been similar if not the same. Wrex was (possibly) more loved than Garrus and now, to date, reamins my biggest disappointment in what was simply a masterful work of video game art by leaving him out of your team. Although reasons obv dictated as such.

I'm pretty sure in the game she is called Aries.... but its 3 am I'm exhausted and just trolling the internet right now.
Aeris in every version I've had, but they refer to her as Aerith as well. I think the original name is Aerith and it was lost in translation when they ported it over to the states.

It's true. I heard from Bioware that if you import an ME 2 Maleshep that romanced Tali into ME 3, you can't sprint. Instead, every time you press the storm key, Shepard lets out a high-pitched wailing noise and falls to the floor clutching his groin.screwoffreg wrote...
The downside of the Tali as a romance as that by ME 3, she will have worn Shepard out so much he will be even LESS capable of running than before.

Its a price I'm willing to pay. Besides I have Biotic Charge. Full use of my legs is optional.

No, she also appeals to the girl-friendless experienced as well. That's my oversimplified demographic. I would rate it no worse than grown men crying or otherwise becoming emotionally vested in sports teams during the courses of their lives.

Personally I thought she was the only good romance and well paragon Jack romance.
I can't stand Miranda at all, I wish I could throw her out of the airlock and shoot her with the Thanix cannons.
But everyone has the right to like who they like and who they don't like.
Its good to have all of the people like the characters and support them. But people hating the characters just do to the popularity is stupid and immature.

Well, probably for her accent and that she really cares for Shep.

I like Miranda as a friend as Shepard's XO, but her romance always seemed to be one of animal desire rather than romance.

To me at least (which I sadly feel I have to put in as an addendum on any thread concerning a love interest for fear some rabid, foaming-mouthed idiot tries to school me in an internet forum... like I'd really change my mind in any case, I just have no time for pointless juvenile drama) she's the ship sweetie; she's the cupcake in the bakery window: sugary icing, soft moist cinnamon interior and one could never be enough.
Cake analogies aside, she was made to tweak our heartstrings with her genuine warmth, her cute accent, her loyalty and vulnerability, and she's a rock from ME1 to cling to when our other love interests have moved on/gone a bit mental. Tali's probably carried that torch since her first adventure with Shep too, so she's a keeper; she'll walk into hell with Shep without batting an eyelid. While she doesn't act on it, she gets cute and flustered around a femme-Shep too, so she appeals across genders. Hard act to follow.
Miranda is a more conventional beauty with historic/esteem issues and Jack is the alt-beauty with a tragic, immoral past. Shep's romance helps them to move past their problems, see their own inherent worth/begin to move out of the shadow of their past (those two are so damn alike, albeit with the hardest one being the most fragile), but Tali comes at you on even ground and has no serious baggage. She's (immunity-issues aside) the least problematic romantically and doesn't make Shep jump through hoops.
She's loveable, in a girl-next-door kinda way, as opposed to being one of two richter-nine tsunderes you either love or hate. She's slap bang in the middle. And then there's those hips...
I was going to try to explain it in my own words, but this says it better. ^^
Also additional attraction point for me is that she is a nerd ^^ and nerdy girls usually get at least a +1 or +2 to attractiveness from me.

I just about melt when she is explaining about intimacy and looks to her right and up and goes, 'wow, it's hot in here...' That is so endearing, so organic it is irresisitable.

The next line where she says "A young woman is saved by a dashing
commander," did it for me. From there on, I was committed.

I've said this many times and I agree, she actually makes a good first officer/friend, I hope she's in ME3.
I don't get the Miranda hate personally, she defrosts by the end and is loyal to Shep at the end.
