I was fine with just Oghren coming back until I realised that this meant my dog would not. The reason I hadn't realised this is that the dog is bonded to you in an almost spiritual way according to the game. So.........what happened to the dog? The only thing I can think of is that Bioware killed him off. Because unlike any of the other characters this is the only one that wouldn't leave you PERIOD unless he's dead in a ditch somewhere. SO my decision to save him at Ostagar? Totally meaningless. THis is not what the expansion says will happen with your decisions. I was looking forward to this expansion pack, but with this revelation and the news that DLC items (that I have already paid for) will not be usable in the expansion, well,  I suddenly feel as though I am being taken for a ride.

ANd if I am being taken for a ride by Bioware, the heirs to the Black Isle throne (you know, the ones who made Torment and Baldur's Gate 2 which are IMO the greatest games ever made) then I can think of only one reason for this, and it's monogram is E.A.

And if this is the case I have a question for E.A.
Having corrupted one of the greatest companies in video game history, How do you sleep at night?

95% sure they killed off dog. No other reason I can think of for his disappearance.

I'd be gutted if my dog died. No matter what you did Dog was always loyal to you, plus I found him so god damn cute

But sadly that's probably what will happen, since there would be no other reason that Dog would leave you since he is imprinted to you

It will be revealed that Dog got tainted by darkspawn in the final battle and so had to be put down.

He is gone, simple as that. You don't have a problem "hand-waiving the story in this regard", do you? Bioware doesn't for sure.
