Dude wheres my dog???

It's not like it takes alot of trouble to put dog back into the game and it would bring a smile to many a gamers face to see your dog return and help mass murder some more darkspawn.
I'm really hoping that they did not kill off dog or anything like that, it would be terrible.
I suggest we start a protest or somtething like that XD
Bioware we demand our dog!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That will have as much effect as asking for any of the other things we want back..heh.

Probably a no is the best we'll get.

It's still worth a try I suppose no matter how cruel and heartless Bioware have become stealing our friends(and man's best friend in particular) and leaving us with an alcoholic, taking the DLC items WE paid for and completly ignoring the fact that dead people are dead T_T
Damn you Bioware, damn you

The Dog obviously requires so much dialogue that it would be far too expensive to hire a dog actor to reprise their role in the game.

BioWare and the secret dog actor are currently locked in tough negations, lets cross figures for a deal being worked out, otherwise, no Dog for DA2 either :(:P

Yeah, I heard Bioware were forced to cut him because Dog had his union on their asses. No-one wants to deal with a syndicated workers organisation made up solely of massive dogs especially bred for war. The legal costs are... extreme.

Not to worry though, I hear Donald Sutherland is interested in the role.

I feared a Dog strike would happen between DA:O and DA:OA

Those labor agreements after Fable 2 and Fallout 3 were strained and were getting nowhere!

At first I thought this was in off topic. I was going to be all "I don't know. Did you check its pulse?"

I'll admit it: the dog often annoyed me when I was trying to have conversations. The one and only mod I installed was to silence his yapping at camp... but I'm not the least bit okay with him being killed off. My romances going *poof* -- fine, that's how it goes in this cruel world. My DLC vanishing is annoying, but I'm sure all that junk will be replaced in short order. Oghren... well, my mantra continues to be "at least it isn't Wynne."

But the dog? BioWare seriously KILLED MY POOCH? I'm about ready to fly up to Canada and smack somebody.

My guess is that dog is either dead or off making puppies.

But in all seriousness I think it's likely that Dog might of died from darkspawn poisoning, since with the exception of the HN origin, dog always starts out sick from darkspawn taint. I always found it highly unlikely that a flower could of permanently reprieve any creature from the taint. It is also stated that there is no permanently cure for the taint and although dogs have a different biology than humans I doubt that they are an exception to this. So I do believe that Bioware might pull an old yeller on us and have dog die.

Or I could be wrong and dog just decided that he like Alistair better than you, but that's my two cents on the matter.

Well, I couldn't blame him for that.  My beloved King *is* rather irresistable. :D

Hey *my* King was irresistible too! Maybe it was the name.  :P    Of course so were both my Khallon's and definitely my Loghayne's. :)  I had one mabari named Biscuit though, who was a bit crackers.  Sweet, but one too many bonks on the noggin, you get me?  lol

All my dogs have decided to run off with Sten and 4/10 me's agree its the right thing to do too!

Maybe they will just say that Dog is staying with your love interest. That would at least make sense.

You're right, that sort of would.  My PC who romanced Zev would feel much better leaving him knowing that Snuffles the war dog was protecting him in case of another Crow ambush.  Of course that doesn't explain why Zev and Snuffles aren't at my PC's side facing whatever sort of Horrible Evil we're up against this time together, but... eh.

This is actually the only thing I'm upset about in regard to the expansion thus far. Oghren coming back? Good, I thought he was the least developed character, so there's room to expand his story. No DLC items? I've played with them plenty in Origins and I'm looking forward to getting awesome new gear anyway. No romances? Hey, as long as they don't forget my human noble is Princess-Consort I don't mind.

But no dog? My dog was the first companion of my first character! He stuck by his mistress through thick and thin! And in that particular play-through he can't have run off with Sten, as I left him in his cage to be killed by Darkspawn :-).

I'm going to be very unhappy if my beloved dog is dead. I much prefer the idea that he's been put out to stud - he certainly earned it. That, or my character left him to watch the kingdom since she doesn't trust Alistair to manage it alone ....

Maybe dog overthrows Alister become king and thats why hes not there with you.

That would make perfect sense

Come now Bioware don't murder our furry friend. At least if hes not a companion put him wwalking around vigils keep our something else.

Now that the BioWare folks are back at work, maybe one of them will pop in here and address our dog's apparent demise. If they killed him off-camera, at the very *least* I expect his doggie ashes in my inventory when we return to Ferelden.

The excuse for dog not being in Awakening is that they really don't want my $40(x2) dollars.

No dog? No buy.
