Oghren grew on me - Sten, I loathed - I think because he was so pompous about *my* ability as a warrior, when he never did a thing himself. Of course, that's my fault for not including him - but! He had a beefy face and reminded me of a bus driver I used to hate with seething fury - I'd let him out of the cage, but he wasn't spending 2 minutes at my side.

I think it had to be a non-romance character, and one that could be a tank. That basically narrowed it down to those 2 - and I'd enjoy writing Oghren more, myself.

The thing about Sten is..he attempts to push your buttons..to see if you have any backbone..to stand up to him.

All you need to tell him is "I'm not here to impress you".  He respects you for that. :)   Play his game.   Works for me. :)

Do you think Alistair will be as important as he was in Origins? With appearances and such..

I really think that, while not a party member, Alistair will have a key role on the story, maybe as a king, or a general.

I think Alistair will still have some importance..especially if "canon" dictates that he really is the King.  If it doesn't..I still think he'll probably be around in the background somewhere, maybe cheering the GWs on or something lol.

I f**cking hated Oghren, just irritated me all the way through to the point where i couldnt even be bothered talking to him in camp. "Come to talk to old Oghren have you, i dont know why." No, me neither mate I was just looking for the "i think you should leave" option.

Still couldve been worse, couldve been Wynne.

Lol, Alistair handing "join the Wardens!" pamphlets on the streets screaming "Be all you can be!!" :D

PS- It could be that Oghren was expected to return in the expansion, that it was part of the grand plan. In which case that would explain his "shallowness." In a since Oghren IS returning because he didn't have much going on character wise, nows bioware's chance to remedy that.

I hope so. I think there was some real squandered potential with Oghren. He could have been a subversion of that drunken dwarven warrior cliche that plagues the fantasy genre. If you took him to the Tower, you saw a real inkling of something special if you saw his nightmare.

He's a man with pride, yet he's embarrassed at every turn by yokels who he could kill in a heartbeat and his wife leaves him. Considering his wife left him for a woman, I thought the game would delve into some gender issues with that. Yeah, on the surface all he wants to do is drink and fight like your Gimli-clone, but deep down he feels like less than a man because he's got no status among his people and his woman left him.

Anyways, I hope BioWare manages to explore his character more deeply. I truly think he's got potential to be every bit as memorable as some of my favourites, but there needs to be more depth.

My feelings exactly.  The idea of her nannering, moralizing, and lecturing me through another game gives me a real-life *twitch*.  I think I need to go back and kill her just for the therapy.

At least Oghren minds his own damn business.

I finally just got him to leave - ugh, could not stand him being around anymore. I really wanted the pleeeaaasure of killing him but was unsure how to accomplish it. I would have enjoyed lopping his damn head off :o

I have to admit that most times I left Wynne in camp...too much grandmotherly stuff from her.

Although one conversation between Wynne and Zevran, about Wynne's "bosoms" kind of cracked me up. :P

The best ones:

Wynne + Alistair - Wynne tries to teach Ali where babies come from (Hilarious)

Wynne  + Oghren - i seriously thought those 2 would have a love scene even before me

Why at least name him "An old favorite" they labeled him as a favorite that was misleading. I honestly expected Morrgian or something

Because nothing generates excitement like "a mediocre and forgetable friend!"

Honestly, you can't disect the words chosen from an announcement press release. The announcements and teasers that come out from now until launch date will only leave us blindly speculating on how the finished product will turn out. Not until reliable reviews are published, demos are released or the finished product is in our hands can we make an honest decision as to whether or not this expansion is a 10 or a 1.

Until then, whenever we hear a new Bioware announcement or teaser we must say to ourselves one of the following:

(a) "That sounds disapointing, I hope the game is enjoyable despite this."
(B) "That sounds exciting, I hope the impact on the final product meets my current expectations."
