I have never been able to resist flirting with Alistair cause he's cute, has that sexy voice and its just downright fun.  BUT I would like to try romancing Zevran too.  Thing is, before you get too deep into Zev's romance hes giving you the "its me or Al" speech.  My question is this:

I know you can romance Zevran as a HNF and keep him on after marrying Alistair.  Do you have to marry Al as a friend in order to keep romanced Zev as your elfen sweetie?  Or is it really possible to have both as romantic partners and NOT have them get jealous too early to play out the romance (of the second one).  HOW does one get that particular scenario?

If you can't, I will have to sit on my hands and NOT romance Al at least once, I want to see what happens with Zevran at least one play through.

Alistair can not be romanced by the PC if she marries him and wishes to keep Zevran as a lover. It has to be a love-less marriage, purely for political reasons, or Zevran will leave.

Thanks Sabriana, Guess on my next playthrough I will have to sit on my hands and keep Al in the friend zone. Having played a male PC and keeping Al as a friend was kind of nice too. And Zev should be more interesting than Leliana what little I saw of it in game and reading a lot of the posts here. Just its hard for me to resist Al long enough to pick up Zev...Maybe if I just do one of the Blight ally quests and trigger him before I get to talking with Al much I can manage it. Flirting with Zevran was a lot of fun (what little i got to do of it before the jealous speech).

It is a great romance, Sylvanaerie. It goes very deep, and the Zevran romance does not complete until far into the game.

There's a thread here about romancing Zevran that we Zevransqueegirls call home. Now, I know it's long over 100 pages long even, but it offers a lot of insight into Zevran and his romance.

I'd like to add, IF you're romancing both Zevran and Alistair, you cannot complete the Zevran romance. It's possible to end with both at 100 love, but you miss the absolute best of the Zevran romance dialogs as those must be initiated by the warden at camp.

Yea, thought I would make a City Elf who just doesn't really care for humans, keep Al in the friend zone and romance Zev. I got to the part with the earring on him and that just creeped me out. He was giving me a trophy from one of his dead marks? Great gifts don't have to cost anything, they CAN be found but that ugh...Since I couldn't follow up on it, maybe I find out it ISN"T something he yanked off some dead guy but I never got the chance.

Ahhh the earring is the best part! It means a lot to him, and to have him offer it to you is very special. I won't ruin it for you, but save the game right before Taliesin and then explore the different options when he offers you the earring...the best and sweetest is to not accept the earring unless it's a token of affection (he will offer it again) and when he does - it's 10x better than anything Alistair tells you. *sighs*

The earring does mean a lot. It is best to turn it down, it really doesn't matter why. And yes, when Zevran declares his feelings, whether or not it comes with a second offering of the earring, is special.

Well, the earring definitely *is* from a now dead mark, so I hope that doesn't put you off too much. But hey, things like that are what make the Zevran romance so quirky and great. There is definitely more to come after his offer of the earring, so long as you *refuse* the earring the first time. He's not one to put his emotions out there on his own, he needs a little prodding. But a CE is a great character to do it with (just remind yourself, I hate humans, I hate humans, especially Alistair), and if you don't love him as much as, or more than, Alistair by the end of it then you're just plain silly. =P

The earring is symbolic as well, though. It's from his first kill for the crows -- he's completely giving up that life for the warden.

Edit: at least, that's how I took it.

Excuse me,

I saw it mentioned that there was a home for Zevrangirls. As my main character, Aedan Cousland, has a dedicated and strong relationship with Zevran, is there no home for men who desire the love of Zevran?

Oh yes, anyone who loves Zevran is welcome there. Females are more vocal there, but the guys there add so much. Please join us! Just please don't feed the trolls. They do go away if taken seriously, but not yelled at!

edit: Linky to my last post in there, as it's really hard to find the 111 page thread which is always on the front page! http://social.biowar...188/111#1274587
