Okay, I've been attempting to get the Kelly Romance, but I just can't do it. I had my Shepherd flirt with her at every opportunity, yet after beating the game and saving her, I've gotten no new message of an invite.

My theory is that since you can't have other romances, the invite won't come. And since Morinth is a somewhat romance option, and having picked her to join my team over Samara, I didn't get Kelly.

I wanted to know if this has happened to anyone, since it seems I get to do a whole new playthrough for Kelly.

I had the same situation, and I did literally everything else right to get the invite from Kelly.  Everything appeared fine up till the very end.  I also had Morinth.  I don't think this is a coincidence.

 

I never showed any romantic interest in Morinth outside of the process to join the party.

Did you get the dinner invite option for Kelly?

 

I don't see how having Morinth would effect Shepard wanting to romance Kelly since Morinth/Samara don't have to be recruited to romance Kelly.

Nope, Morinth ain't fault in here that I can put my hand on fire for.

 

I played all playstyles of ME but I always slept with Kelly(not because I gave damn about her but because I discovered doing so she will feed my fish  ) and I never had problem with seducing Kelly no matter who I romanced besides her or had in crew with me, it doesn't affect Kelly's "romance".

I just finished a ME2 run and I had Morinth in my party, but I was able to successfully romance Kelly.

Don't know what happened to you, did you have a romance and then broke it off? Anyway, I found this post and you might find it useful.

Are you talking about the invite to dinner, so she will feed your fish, or the invite to dance & sleep with you?
If it's the latter, did you talk to her directly after the suicide mission & get the Thane style flashbacks?
Morinth only effects the Kelly dance if you have sex with her & die. (although, the way you resurrected this thread, even a dead Shepard may be no obstacle  )

These are two separate things? I didn't know that. I just got the invite to dinner once and then she yawns after coming out of the elevator. No idea about the dance and sex.

Only available if you have no ME2 romance ongoing, & you speak to her straight after the suicide mission.
It's not an actual sex scene, just a personal dance & lying on the bed together.

Yep.  She fed my fish and we had dinner before the suicide mission.  It was all going so well.  I saved her and spoke to her directly after the suicide mission (I even replayed the suicide mission, because there's a line of dialogue with her that I suspected could affect it).  After the mission, she did the flashbacks with me.  But no invite after the flashbacks, and I saved/reloaded/moved around a ton. 

 

Actually I just finished ME3 yesterday and spent the whole game trying to romance her and failed in that too!  I guess it's just not meant to be.  That Diana Allers is really something, though.

Well, I had no problems inviting Kelly to the cabin in a playtrough with Morinth.
I was playing as FemShep.

Honestly, if Morinth is on the ship, I wouldn't be surprised at all to just find Kelly dead in the starboard observation lounge at some point.

Also you have to answer the email she sends you. 

 

Yeah, the writer who wrote Kelly wrote her romance to be ambiguous about whether it was sexual or not.

One of the reasons Kelly's is my favorite romance of the Shepard Trilogy.
