Ok I guess this didn't happen for this person in their playthrough then huh?



As it did for my main ME Paragon Shep just recently.

I did this on my first playthrough. The pic you have Liara in your room will be turned face down, so it means shes no longer your love interest.

Zero evidence of reciprocity. Shep still feels for Liara, 'cos from his emotional perspective the last two years haven't happened. Everything about Liara's demeanour and actions practically scream "I've moved on!".

YOu have to pretty much meta game Shep's feelings too. There's no indication of love, attraction, tenderness from him/her towards Liara. No hug interrupts here... The whole meeting between them has the air of a business negotiation. Shepard is going on a suicide mission, and s/he can't even tell Liara this? You know, "this might be the last time we see each other..."? The whole thing is so cold and uncaring. I seriously think the Kaidan/Ash anger outburst was 10 times better. At least there was some human emotion there, not two cold fishes discussing hacking and the Shadow Broker.

In your opinion and your entitled to it, but my Shep sees that she got her thing she doing and he got her thing that he doing and after he done his thing he will go back to her.

Even though I got a couple of cheating shep's as well, I'll applaud them if the 'consequence' of cheating is a fairly tough one.

Edit: @Mox you may have to meta-game but I guess that just shows what a poor roleplayer you are if you require on-screen tools to choose what your character thought all the time.

I think it will be a confrontation of you have to choose between me and them, kind of thing. I feel for Liara then she will lose to tali most likely.



But I wish it would go something like this:



Shepard is woken up from his sleep and standing over him with a gun is the ME1 LI and they are crazy with anger and regret and say that they trusted Shepard and this is how they repay him? Then they show their arms where they have been cutting themselves in grief and then you get a paragon hug interrupt.



Try to tell them it will all be okay. There is a tense moment they share.



Then the ME2 LI wakes up lying next to Shepard. Then the true confrontation begins.



Yeah I am twisted.

I am seriously having trouble imaging Kaidan in this scene. He doesn't have the balls for it. Ash & Liara though... you definitely need that paragon (or renegade) interrupt there or you will get some new scars.

After romancing Liara and Garrus, FemShep returns to Kaidan to try to have that threesome once and for all. Now that Garrus is the third party, he's totally alright with it

if Bioware has any sense of decency they will accept the fact they SCREWED UP majorly with the love interests (yes they did)......they will stop high-fiveing each other while saying "lol.....we are tracking the cheaters" and give us an opportunity to bow out of the previous relationship

True it was all in jest anyway, i doubt they do anything as crazy as that.

Ash would totally do it. And Liara would use her biotics instead of a gun.

Like so many other plot points in this game, it all feels like setup for the next game. I can't say I'd be surprised if the ball were dropped, but it does seem entirely plausible that there will be a big blowout scene between love interests. Hell, that's basically the whole reason (for me) Shepard rebounded from Ash with Miranda -- there was no feeling in that encounter, just a distraction that I'm hoping leads to some interesting conflict in the next game.

No, Bioware simply failed with Liara's dialogue in ME2. There was no option to even discuss the past relationship; there was no emotional payoff from an imported romance. It's almost as if Bioware created the non-import encounter, but didn't have time to do a more in-depth one for importers.

Yeah, the only difference between the non-import scene and the import scene is the whisper and the kiss.  Perhaps this will be resolved in the alleged Liara DLC?

Kaidan would probably act more upset about his favorite panel in the mess hall being replaced by a kitchen. It would lead to awkward moments between him and Gardner.
