I have NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 275 and from what i have heard so far the game itself doesn't support it so you have to force it in the Nvidia control panel. However, the latest driver might not support it. They fixed this issue in a newer driver, but they took it offline because those drivers literally fry graphics cards because of bad fan control. I assume the next driver will allow AA.
there are newer beta Driers out that still have AA support in Mass effect 2 and fixed the fan issue but Im sticking with the ones they pulled offline tell the newer ones come out of beta
eVGA tool can control fans so the driver issue isn't really an issue

Are you players actually managing to play ME2 with anti-aliasing? How? Do you tune something?
I tried putting up 8x AA or so and FPS was down below 20.
Hmph.

do not use anything newer than Catalyst 9.11 ! I have an ASUS EAH4770 and 10.1 and 10.2 resulted in a horrible drop in framerate. Same with a friend with a HD4850, and another forum user who send me results from his HD4670 via PM. Stick with the old 9.xx drivers and rename the exe to "UT3.exe"...
Sadly, I've found no other way to turn it on. In my case 4x AA results in negligible loss of performance in most cases, except a few cutscenes where there's a huge loss, down to 8-10 fps.

You don't need nhancer. You just need to fix the nvidia .xml file
1) Find NvApps.xml in "C:\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ProgramData\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\NVIDIA" folder (this folder may be hidden).
2) edit nvapps.xml
3) find "biogame.exe" under mass effect 2 and change it to "MassEffect2.exe"
4) insert:
5) set AA to override in mass effect 2 profile.
6) enjoy without having to use nhancer

This is great info. However, as I've been saying, you don't need to do the xml file edit anymore. The new 197.13 drivers have this already set in there. You just need to override the AA setting in the profile now in NVidia Control Panel.
I've just done this so now I'm going to see how it works...stay tuned
