was anyone else a little dissapointed it wasn't actualy class specific. I loved the engineer, it was a blast to play. But Tali and Legion both have combat drone and combat drone is one of the most used powers by enemies. Every other class has unique powers that only shepard can use and you never see used by enemies. (well some of the geth cloak, but it seems vastly different than the inflitrator power)

The engineer drone is so much better than the squad drones that it's practically not even the same ability. The shear spamability of an engineer's drone makes it spectacular in any situation.

You make a valid point that Combat Drone is the only class specific power that allies also have.

However, I would argue that the ally version of the power is significantly different because it has a REALLY long cooldown compared to the 3 second cooldown Shepard's has. That leads to a very different use of it.

Yeah you both are right. I would just like to have seen different choices for Tali and Legion. And for enemies to have overload instead of combat drone. Enemy vangaurds don't have charge. Why should enemy engineer's have combat drone?

yeah but it operates nothing like the infiltrator ability. You can still "see" and attack cloaked geth, you can even use your powers on them. I'm not even sure what the point of it is besides atmosphere. Infiltrators get totally ignored when cloaked. The combat drone, dispite being weakened in the squad or enemy form works exactly the same as Shepard's drone. It knocks you out of cover and occasionally attacks you. The only thing it doesn't do is force you to attack it. Enemies generally ignore everything but the drone. Like i said in the initial post, it is a small problem and i still liked the engineer, it was just a little disappointing. And i was wondering if anyone else felt the same way.

I think enemies having combat drone instead of overload is simply more interesting combat-wise. Like all Overload is is something that damages your shields. Combat drones used by enemies adds an interesting combat dynamic.

It is a little bit harder for enemies to have the other ones. I mean, singularity has to be out because they cant have your Shepard flying around in a singularity. Charge is out because it would easily be overpowered if Shepard got charged by an enemy with a shotgun (remember, Charge is only balanced for Vanguards because you have to survive after killing the first enemy. But for enemies thats not the case. They kill Shepard and its game over). Adrenaline Rush is impossible to implement on enemies. Tactical cloak is kind of implemented already on enemies. Tech Armor, I suppose, could go on enemies, but it wouldnt add much to gameplay.

As for allies having combat drone, I suppose it is slightly disappointing for the engineer class. But at the same time, it does have a 10x longer cooldown, which makes it used entirely differently. And also, those arent Tali's or Legion's unique powers, so they'd just get stuck with some other power like overload or something otherwise, which realistically probably wouldnt be as interesting (because drones are kinda cool).

you have a point, but a class is not defined by a single skill.    Garrus and Miranda have overload, Mordin has Incinerate and Cryo Blast, Legion and Tali have Combat Drone, but we get all of them in one Engineer.   a combination of these skills make engineer unique.

Not to mention some of the enemy engineers have what looks like Tech Armor on them. Should Sentinels complain that theirs isn't unique?
