While both the Dragon Blood and Cerberus armors look pretty cool and have some nice stat bonuses, I can't see how they're preferrable to the basic armor.

For one, the N7 armor is customizable.  I'm a big proponent of the extra ammo pieces, and since I play a Soldier, the Blood Dragon armor's bonus to Powers doesn't really help all that much in comparison.  The Cerberus armor is much better suited to Soldiers, but again, it doesn't really help in all the areas I like.

That, and I really like the ability to customize the look of the N7 armor (colors, patterns, etc.).  Now, if the two new armors could be customized in this way, I think I'd actually use them.

Anyone else feel this way?  What are your preferences and why?

BTW, from the head down, here are the pieces I use.

Recon Hood
Shield Harness
N7 Shoulder Guards
Off-Hand Ammo Pack
Ordnance Packs

Same story. I dun like walking around Illium and meeting up with old friends with a bucket on my head.
I like the look of the Blood Dragon Armor and would wear it just for its aesthetic if helmets were able to be toggled.
But yeah, despite having every single DLC equipment out so far (Image IPB), I only ever use the Incisor Sniper Rifle on my snipy squaddies and Eviscerator Shottie on those who use shotties.
Everything else just collects dust.

No. I wish theyd actually taken the time to just add more N7 pieces. The N7 armour is a good addition, and I think a decent method of improving on ME1s "armour" system of simply retexure/colours. However its too damn limited. I havent once worn a downloadable armour, and I doubt I ever will. Just keeping fingers crossed they will actually add more N7 pieces.

Yeah, that's another reason I don't like the new armors, but then again, I often forget to take my normal helmet off (either the full N7 helmet or the Recon Hood) before I go planetside. Then again, I am on my second playthrough, so I have a better idea of when to do that.

I use Collector Armor mostly for the Regen and Health Bonuses. I do change often. But I am on a second run through. This time with a Adept. I do change to N7 armor in the Hubs (sans helmet).

I started off using it, but truthfully, I found I could build better armors. Anyways, I like the custom look of my characters, each one using an armor built to aid their build/style best.

Don't use them due to the helmet issue. Heck, I don't even use the N7 helmets. I use the visor because I want some kind of performance benefit through headgear but it's an RPG. I want to see the full face animations.

i used the cerberus armor once, for Tali's loyalty mission because i knew i had to wear a helmet anyways. other that that, all of the DLC gathers dust in the closet.

Yeah, only one teammate can make use of the BEST Sniper rifle...  The others are stuck with the Incisor, which I think is better than the Viper Sniper.
They have pretty good aim with it, too, considering it fires in 3-shot bursts.  I'm always hearing, "Pop-pop-pop" "Long range kill!"  "Pop-pop-pop" "Headshot!"  :P

I'm seeing a pattern of quite a few people not liking helmets. What about the Death Mask? Anyone know if it actually gives a useful bonus, like when purchasing stuff in shops?

And again, WTF is the Incisor Sniper Rifle?

EDIT:  Thanks, vdiety, but how do you get it and who can use it?

I used the Terminus armor on my first playthrough for some of the N7 missions. I'm on my second game and I used the Cerberus armor for Tali's loyalty mission and all of the N7 missions.

I use the inferno armor almost always. And otherwise the Terminus or N7. But if helmets would be removable I would use Terminus always.

A code for the Incisor Sniper Rifle came with my copy of the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game.
It's a sniper rifle with a pretty large ammo capacity, I think 15-round clips. Fires 3-round bursts instead of single shots.
It's a bonus DLC weapon.
Anyone in your squad with the ability to use Sniper Rifles has access to it, yourself included of course.

I never use the DLC armor since I can't take the damn helmet off my head.

I use it when on a mission where I can't be helmetless anyways.... just got done the collector ship mission while wearing the Cerberus Assault Armour. Otherwise I don't bother, just wear my N7. They really should work on more armour pieces and colour schemes for the existing armour.

I actually used Inferno Armor in beginning on my Vanguard just for the Negotiation bonus. Also tried Blood Dragon armor for funs, but ended up using customized N7 for both Adept & Vanguard characters.

On my Engineer though I'm using the Cerberus one and I actually like it.

Still a 'helmet toggle' option would be lovely.

I used the Collectors armor for my first play-through. Its pretty good as it goes.

Used the Cerberus armor for a few missions on my 2nd play-through before mix and matching the N7 stuff.

I have the Blood Dragon armor but I've never used it.

I know I'm getting OT, but seeing as it's my own topic, what the hell.  Is this the only way to get the Incisor?  I've never heard of a Digital Deluxe Edition of the game.

Speaking of which, I know about the Collector armor (it came with the preorder, right?), but what the hell is the Inferno armor?

Incisor is part of Mass Effect 2 if you buy the digital deluxe edition (Steam, Impulse, Direct2Drive etc.). Its supposed to have bonuses versus shields & barriers.

Inferno Armor was a preorder bonus DLC. My avatar is actually of Shephard in Inferno Armor.
