On one of my current Shepherds I have him constantly in the Cerberus gear unless I am doing standard walking around stuff on Citadel, Ilium or Omega, in which case I switch to N7 without the helmet (or at least with it open).
Got another one that uses Inferno armor and another that uses the blood dragon armor, most likely one or more will use the terminus and/or collector armor on some missions.
It's all about know what to wear and when.
Armor DLC: Does anyone actually use them?

I used Blood Dragon Armor for 1 mission during my first playthrough, took it off after the
first cut scene...Haven't touched the others...what a waste of some cool armor. I didn't
even bother downloading the cerberus armor..whats the point? I like the gun though.

In my first playthrough, I used the Collector armour all the way up to the final mission, where I switched to N7. On my current playthrough, I haven't used any of the DLC armour, and I'm very glad. There are so many facial expressions that wowed me upon seeing them for the first time (I love to look Shepard gives the asari on Illium after she says dating humans is easy because of their short life spans).
I more than likely would go back to wearing DLC armour if, as others have said many times before me, there were an option to remove the helmet (or at least do so while in conversation).

I did because the Collector's Armor had some cool bonuses. I don't really NEED any increase in ammo capacity, so there are several pieces of armor I don't choose for that reason. Earlier in the game, if I had it, I would have used the Inferno Armor because of the negotiation bonus, but now I have the Death Mask and my diplomacy is so good it doesn't matter anyway. I probably would like the power bonuses granted by the Blood Dragon armor for an insanity run.
Storm Speed +10%? What is +10% supposed to accomplish anyway?

Used Cerberus/Terminus/Blood Dragon during those mission where you have to wear a helmet anyway. Other then that it's N7 armor with a visor (or no helmet at all).
But I guess even BioWare has realised by now that lots of us would prefer a simple helmet toggle like in ME1.

I usually switch between them just for the look. And to get drunk with a helmet on.

If caught out in the open, you can get to cover in 90% of the time it normally takes? Don't use it myself, but I can see how that might save ones ass on occasion. More generally, get to someplace 10% faster than you normally would?

I'm wearing the dragon one on my girl atm. It created all sorts of funny situations already. Liara kissing the helmet, people recognizing me immediately right through the red glowing visor-thingy and of course the classic: drinking by absorbing through the plastic. Also, its always the funny electric filter on the VO. Its amazing how no NPC reacts to that ^^ like i'm a Quarian or Volus or so.
Anyhow... i don't like to have my hero look like a car, so the other armors are collecting dust.
I vote for helmet toggle and some elegant light armor for my girly sentinels...

I use the Terminus armor on all the n7 missions bc it makes you look like a bad*** future spartan or something

I don't, for the popular no helmet toggle reason.

Don't use them either... Also because of the helmet thing.

Nope, N7 is still the armor for me and I love the widow sniper rifle, nothing comes close. The DLCs are a waste of money. Fortunately, it was bundled with every game that is sold.

Nope, due to the helmet issue. Disappointing.

Not only for what everyone has already said, but what about the non-reactions to your armor? The description of Terminus Armor says it's illegal in Citadel space, yet I wore it all over the Citadel, and no one even whispered, asked, or confronted me with it on. Not like they could recognize me as Shepard.... well actually they seemingly could as already noted as well. Even the first visit to the Citadel through customs and security scanner had not a word about the armor that is supposedly illegal.

the only character i dont use DLC armor is my soldier class, i use the dragon age armor for my adept because of the power increase, and i plan to use the cerberus armor for the vanguard playthrough because im most likely going to be in peoples faces with that class

I prefer the N7 simply because I can customize the different pieces to get different bonuses based on what char build I'm playing, and also on what type of mission I'm going on.
I've played a couple of times now, so the helmet thing really isn't an issue for me at this point.
I am with a few others here and wish that they would expand the available types of armor pieces to customize the N7. That was one thing great about the original ME, customizing your gear to fit the situation. The inventory system they used to do it sucked, but they had the right idea. I just would like to be able to customize my combat abilites a little bit more. . .

no helmet toggle = no helmet for me. stupid to have no helmet toggle. no explanation of any kind will change my opinion.
also, having no crouch is just as stupid.
