For those of you who let the Rachni Queen live in ME1 you are sent a message in ME2 about there return and when the time come they will come to our aid but as for right now they are rebuilding their race. So I am sure they will make their return in ME3.

So what do you think their roll will be in ME3? A squad member if they are a squad member what class would their Build be or a legion that you will help with fighting the greater fight.

I'd love to see the Rachni in ME3. Of all my decisions that carried over from the first game, the one that had the biggest impact on me was my decision to free the Rachni Queen. I'd love to see something solid come of it in the next game.

Doubt they'd waste resources on a squaddie that some people won't be able to use. They'll probably be in the game though.

I am pretty positive the next game will be running around persuading difference species to align with you to help with the reapers, and everything from both games will factor.

There is just too much evidence to think otherwise.

We have an army of Rachni

An army of Geth

The Quarians not attacking the geth

The council

The turians (If very high paragon through ME1 you get some news they are supporting humans)

etc etc.

yep, I'm with Groo on this. and the more squaddies you keep alive, the easier the convincing will be. (IE If Legion's a happy camper, convincing the geth to join will be a breeze... if you sold him to cerberus... not so much).

Although... as far as the Council's concerned, they can watch the tail lights. I'll rally the damned galaxy without thier help.

Plus  the Krogan. A united Krogan would be to the Rachni what the Geth are to the Quarians. (Or vice versa?)

I don't know that genophage is a factor; the narrative that comes out of Mordin's loyalty mission is fantastic, but it sounded like the results of your actions there are more long term.

In any case, it's an opportunity for ME3 to not just be about defeating the Reapers, but also resolving the conflicts between the races as well.

I just hope if there is a huge battle. it does not end up like DA It would be a major buzz kill if it ends up being a replay of DA end game battle.

I think the same. Shep even says hes gonna need the biggest fleet in the galaxy (quarians) against Reapers.
Renegade Sheps will imho get some fancy stuff from Collector Base.

I played the first game on the Xbox and lost Wrex and Kaidan. I hope Mass Effect 3 will be as amazing as i hope it will be. I lost 6 squad members in the final fight.

Samara

Jack

Garrus

Grunt

Legion

Thane

so I hope my mass effect 3 playthrough works out ok in the end. It stinx I had to lose thane, garrus, grunt and legion. They were my favorites. Maybe in the third game those characters will be remembered by their respective races and how you treated them will affect the overall game and its story of recruiting the races to bring them together once and for all.

Image IPB @Kronner There is away to finish the mission without losing anyone. I think losing even 1 person in ME2 will have a large impact on ME3. That is why I will be making sure I complete the mission with all of my squad members. Image IPB

So? I did not say there isn't. I think most people had their whole squad survive, imho it is actually harder to get everyone killed :D

Umm... holy crap, how did you lose so many people in the suicide mission?  I thought you had to try to lose that many.  Did you do any loyalty missions?  Did you read the descriptions when you had to select people for jobs?  Head... hurts...

You should probably replay the game on easy just to have a good save for ME3... >.>

I totally agree w/DirewolfX - how the hell did U lose 6 people? Play it again Prey985, I mean, U really had 2 work hard 2 kill off team members, and people even posted threads asking how to kill off team members - so WTF!!! Did U: Do all the loyalty missions? Upgrade the Normandy? Max out to level 4 the individual teammates passive powers (taurian rebel, cerberus agent, krogan warrier, salarian scientist, etc, etc, etc). I mean w/o reading any of the threads/books/posts, etc, I lost Mordin the 1st time, that was it. When I replayed, I didn't lose anyone. Geez dude, try again man.....

I'm pretty sure that the Rachni will play a significant role in ME3, so that everyone who didn't have a ME1 save where the Rachni queen survived or didn't even played ME1 will want to kick themselves. Sounds about fair, right?

There's actually a lot that shouldn't be taken for granted. In fact is only one possibility that you could count on an army of Geth or Rachni. Not to mention that it would be another slap in the face for all the die-hard Renegade players.

If the Rachni do return, there will be a balance for those that killed them. It's not like there's a "correct decision" after all when you have the big Paragon / Renegade choices. If they made one choice drastically better, it'd make a mockery of the whole system.

Anyway I doubt Shepard is going to use his allies to beat the Reapers in open warfare. There's absolutely no way he could ever win. ME3'll be another war by proxy, I think, but probably less by proxy than ME1 and ME2.

I think choices should have a big as impact as certain squadmembers not being available. I don't think its inconceivable for bioware to do something like this, if players really want to have a squad member that died in the earlier games they will make sure and go back that they stay alive.

An interesting part about this is that when you start a NG+ from a ME2 file, insignifigant events that carried over from your ME1 import do not reoccur. However, there are some major events to do; Rachni, Wrex, ect. The turians supporting humans info on the news announcments remains positive in the NG+ as well.

I am more interested how the rachni could build ships.Did shepardt help the queen to escape?

Or is she able to do something like interstellar telepathy to contact other rachni.

Well, when a mommy rachni ship loves a daddy rachni ship...........

I hope it is not like dragon age where you only get one of the respective armies. For instance, rachni or krogan but not both. Or geth or quarians but not both. At least from the perspective of a paragon, maybe renegades get one or the other and make up for it with reaper tech.

I doubt the Krogan will make a lick of difference in ME3 to be perfectly honest. My theory is that the only species that are even capable of mounting any sort of defense against the Reapers are the ones who possess fleets of warships. The Krogan definitely don't have that and I doubt the Rachni has a fleet either considering they were nearly wiped out.

Listen to some of the news casts and you can hear them say stuff about "rachni looking ships". While they may not have the numbers of the flotilla the rachni are out there, and having even a small fleet in 2 years is pretty impressive.
