There were threads about FemShep not acting / sounding "feminine" enough on the old forums.
Perhaps wrecking FemShep's refreshingly professional soldier demeanor was Bioware's misguided attempt at catering to those interests?
I always thought femShep sounded fine. I prefered the subtletly of the romance, not this pr0n star schmooze.

The sad part? Jacob isn't a bad person. He actually tries to get Shepard to slow down. His line between romance dialogs is "We've got a good thing Shepard, let's not push it." He wants to take it slow, but no, FemShep wants it fast. And hard. Against that lovely window with the view of the drive core please.OfficerDonNZ wrote...
I'm glad I'm not the only one who went 'Oh god, no.' It's just the way Jen Hale says that line to Jacob. It turned me right off talking to him as a FemShep. I've been playing a MaleShep (whose going after Tali)and so far even when he's talking to Maranda or Jack he don't come out with anying as cringe worthy.
I don't know if Garrus or Thane's roamnces are better for a FemShep. But no we're staying clear of Mr Talyor.
Although I am a bit of a hypocrite because during the Garrus Romance her hitting on him goes right over his head the first time, so she has to make an even worse analogy for him to realize she wants to do the horizontal tango with him.

Well, except "wow, you look amazing" is more romantic than "is it in yet?"

I find most romantic dialogue to be a little cringe-worthy, but I feel that way about such talk in real life as well. I also have not played a fem shep or seen any of dialogue, so perhaps I shouldn't be commenting on this, but...what's wrong with being direct, regardless of gender? She is meant to be a 29-31 year old, world-weary military commander, after all. Not a shy teenager blushing at a high school prom.
the problem is Femshep being all flirty with jacob from the get go whether you romance him or not.
This, it seems, is a problem with both male and female Shepard and all romantic interests though. Jack was telling me to 'F off if you're with Tali' before I knew I was even romancing her! Despite the fact I never had any intention of doing so or selected any lines that seemed remotely suggestive.
The femShep dialogue lines are really bad, me. You'd think that Shepard was a space-hooker, rather than an ex military commander.

ME1 romances weren't deep conversation wise but the but it was played out more like a serious bond between to people than just wanting to hop into bed.

Garrus: I didn't think you'd feel like sparring Commander.
Shepard: What if we skipped right to the tiebreaker? We could test your reach..and my flexability.
Garrus: Oh! I didn't..huh. Never knew you had a weakness for men with scars.
I was seriously waiting for the "Bow chickka wow wow" to start playing in the background.

Perhaps making FemShep OTT horny was a way of degrading her too "masculine" professional soldier decorum, or something?

My FemShep tries to stay away from all the ME2 romances but the only way to avoid coming off flirty to Jacob is to avoid talking to him. Even a lot of the options you have for answers seem overly flirty.

THAT has nothing to do with it. I think the boot-to-the-head flirtations show no respect for the object(s) of her affections. I don't flirt thinking I'm going to get the guy's pants off in two seconds. The initial convos were awkward, especially given that I waited till after Horizon to engage in them.
Unless they were trying to show that she was being that cheesily aggressive because she was that badly hurt?

Not me. Again, i don't care if Femshep gets all "sexy" & "aggressive" but i would like to decide with whom and when.

But I don't get that argument. I thought she always sounded fine. Perhaps because I speak like she does? But then, there's feminine and there's drunken chearleader on prom night. (It's not helped by the fact that my femShep LOOKS like a chearleader, either.)

Pfft, me and romance go together like Homer Simpson and sock puppets, but have you seen the male romance dialogue as well? Some of it makes Captain Kirk look like Romeo.
Anyway, I decided to go watch some of the Jacob romance dialogue and 'hahahahaha' was pretty much my response. Yeah, that's pretty...weird. It also makes her come across as kind of a jerk the way she treats him. The Thane and Garrus ones weren't as terrible, I thought.
I've only done the Tali romance in game, and I thought it was pretty cheesy, but watching the other 5, I think it might have been the best, which isn't saying much, or IS saying a lot, but perhaps not in a positive way.
Jacob's was the worst, in my opinion, but let's not pretend the male Shepard romance dialogue is some shining example of flirting in comparison.

Yeah that's sad alright.
Hehe, well Garrus is turian so I guess FemShep can be a little more over the top. Hmm I think my FemShep will have to romance Garrus when I get around to it.

the Sh***y thing about that is, most of those "Femsheps voice is too raspy"-threads were full of people trying to trash Femshep. in other words, they had no interest in ever playing femshep regardless of what her voice sounded like.

Is it really that bad? Apparently people think Meer's delivery of that line is incredibly creepy, but I thought it worked fine. I mean, Meer as Shepard is confident. He's showing Tali that's he's okay with what they're going to do. But that might be me just talking out my ass.KainrycKarr wrote...

Haha, that one was funny, but I agree with the general consensus that you're sort of forced into a few of these romances and can't simply talk to your crewmates just to be friends with them. I especially have no intentions to jump Jacob's bones (well, with another character just to see the content, but not with my current character or the next few ME1 import characters either).
