From Australia.. bought the Australian disc version for Origins on ps3 and now am disgusted to find out that we can only download it here via the PSN..
I was considering importing the American copy (as ps3's are ALL) region free, but I don't know if it will stuff my saves up..
Bottom line. I won't download it because it's just a kick in the teeth to us ps3 users... I will instead, wait for someone who has imported an American version and let them tell me whether that version will work with an original Australian version of Origins..

Would be nice to get someone from Bioware to look into the subject, and ideally notice the developers that they should make it possible to import a Pal character on a US Awakening copy.
Dream scenario would be to get a hard copy in stores for Europe!
Anyway, I read something about SCEE having a rule that expansions that require a original copy can only be published through PSN.

Further on this was the last multi platform game i bought for the PS3. Xbox from now on, Sony has to feel the dissatisfaction of its former (?) customers.
Ps: Someone wanne buy a DAO PS3 uk copy. No scratches

The DLC is region locked.
I know that Europe and Australia share DLC streams, so if you get one from there, perhaps the DLC will work.
I know that people who bought Asian copies and tried to use them in AU could not download any of the DLC products.
Considering this, I would be very careful trying to use different region disks...

Seeing as we're only getting Awakening as a download on PS3 in Europe, I want to make sure I at least get it ASAP!
As the release date for Awakening in EU is a Thursday, and Playstation store updates take place on Thursday, will we be getting the download on the exact release date, or a week later?
Thanks.

I'd like to add a wee question to the mix, hope it hasn't been asked before...

I'd like to know this too, although isn't the release date of the game 19th March?

Bump, any news on us folks who import the game from the US? will it work okay with a pal game?
Hah! If this could potentially corrupt a savegame, we'll have another final sacrifice on our hands! SONY IS THE NEW ARCHDEMON!!!!!
Of course, you could always back up your saves, but DON'T. It's more fun this way

Am I right to think thet DA:O from the US plays on the pal system? If so I think I'll import that and awakenings from the states and sell my copy I've already got, as I can't d/l awakenings
Technically, it can but things can get complicated when you begin crossing the streams like that. Let me see if I can pull together a little info on options.
And just like that victor bails on the ps3 community... AGAIN!

I've read both 18th and 19th on various sites. I have the feeling we'll be waiting til the 25th to download it

Someone needs to get their finger out and make sure Awakenings gets released in the EU on disc format.
Like I said before, if Rockstar are doing it with GTA then I fail to see why BioWare/EA can't.
As much as I love BioWare's games I am really starting to see why people are complaining about PS3 owners getting treated as second class citizens – and it makes me feel sick!
If you were aware of how Episodes worked you'll know the difference right away. Episodes sold as a stand alone disc did not require GTA4 to work. Awakenings is not the same. And the fact someone else did so and so doesn't seem to matter when it comes to Bioware/EA cause I got a crappy "this is not that company" answer when I asked why they could have the bonus disc on PS3 do dropdowns from the XMB like Batman:Arkham Asylum when that whole Soundtrack fiasco happened. Either way, I ended up with a full digital deluxe version from that ordeal so w/e.
Edit: Also, before I forgot. Episodes for GTA required GTA4 only if you got the digital versions.
