First of all, let me start off by greeting every1 on this forums, as i am a first time poster but been following up this forums for quite some time.

That being said, im afraid to confirm every1's fears here...  I myself own an asian copy of DAO , about a week ago i got my DAOA disc, but to my surprise when i got home and tried to play the game, it didnt work.

Heres the thing, my DAO disk is the european version where as my DAOA disk is an asian one. I couldnt even launch awakening on my PS3 let along import any saved characters, looks like the asian awakening disc is  unable to read the DAO data file. (when i insert my DAOA disc, it keeps asking me to insert DAO disc to install the data, considering the fact the data for DAO is allready installed )

I hope this was helpful/useful to any1 in here.

Any comments or questions are more than welcome.

  Best regards

Same problem here for the European version of DAO and an American version of DAO-Awakenings.

I am thinking of buying an American version of DAO and selling my European version, so I can play the expansion normal.

Would that create a 2nd list of trophies i wonder?

No trophies are locked to PSN accounts.

The trophies would sync and none would be earned in game unless you were offline when playing the game. As soon as you went online though all the trophies would be seen as completed and no more would be earned.

Here an update. The American DAO version has arrived. Now I have an European version of DAO, an American version of DAO and an American version of DAO Awakening. You can install the American version of DAO on your PS3 besides your European version. I have then installed The American DAO Awakening and The works. It doesn't recogizes anything from the European version, so no saved games or downloadable content. (I have also checked this with removing the European DAO from the PS3.

I am thinking of keeping the European version of DAO so I can play DAO with downloadable content and old saved games and I can play the Awakening on the American version. This is not very handy and a bit costly to have Awakenings on a Disc.

By the way: I can't find any available downloadable content on the American version for download.

This is because the American downloads are in the American shop, us Europeans can only access the European shop so there's no American content to download.

Also it's a slap in the face to us Europeans customers that we have to pay € 39.99 for a download only version while the store 10 minutes from my house sells the XBOX 360 DISC for € 29.99.

First and last Bioware game for me.

EDIT: Bad, forums are bad. Can't properly handle copy/paste so I had to edit a bit, nice preview option too...

pfft. Disapointed that the expansion is only available on DLC, but that is typical EA, don't have a freaking clue. I ain't paying 31 quid for an expansion when I bought the main game for 15 quid lol. And then they wonder why Blizzard/Activision pisses all over them lol. Think I'll flog the game and wait for Red Dead Redemption, will provide far more entertainment.

Same, unfortunately my uncle actually bought Awakenings from an American store whilst he was over there, I contacted EA about it and they didn't have a clue why it didn't work, they then offered me a refund. When I asked them how to go about getting a refund they said take it to the store that I got it from or if it hasn't been opened I could send it to EA's warranty department and get a refund. How do they expect us to know the issue without opening the game (admittedly i could've done some research first, but still).

*sigh*

I'm very sad about this dlc-decision... would buy it on disc, but not as a 40euro download-version. and I still don't understand why Rockstar Games is allowed to release as disc and download - but EA is not?! This is strange... I'm not gonna buy it on that way.

But I lent a version for the 360, now - to play it and give it back to it's owner! :(

Hope they'll release it as disc, soon!

In some games it does ie Demon Souls, but I wouldn't think Dragon Age would :)

Just out of curiosity, how do I get the seril key for Awakening from the EU PSN version to register on my profile?

I want a "awakening"-disc version for the EU. I'm not gonna buy a digital - not for that price! Reduce it to 20€ an ok - but that price is a full-game and not als dlc-price!

I tried to ask this question 5 days ago but no one fron Bioware answered me, can anyone enlighten me here? I know the rules said you couldn't release both dlc and disk at the same time according to the SCEE rule, but as the games been released for a while now is there any plans to release it on a disk and if so when.
Cheers

I strongly agree m8 the price is just garbage. Would someone from Bioware please comment on the price of the EU version as at the moment it just doesnt feel right

The price is one of the things that put me off downloading it (that and the fact it would take up most of my hdd space on my PS3, if it really is a 25 gb download). I managed to get the American copy for $40 which at the time worked out at about £25-26, which I thought was fairly good considering it had just been released. When I released it wouldn't work with my region 2 copy of Origins i had to spend an extra £32 getting an american copy of origins. Not impressed.

EA's support wasn't much help with this either, they did at one point offer a refund but then back tracked and said they could only do so if I had ordered Awakening from their store. Which was a pointless statement because for the EU Awakening for the PS3 doesn't appear in the EA store and I also stated in my initial email that my uncle got the game from a shop whilst he was on a business trip to America.

I'm having the same issue, I think you need to connect to the American PSN store, not entirely sure how to do this though. Trying to figure it out today as the DLC codes expire today.

I can confirm that the American version doesn't create another set of trophies if you already have the EU version installed.

Dont worry though now that DAO is a crashfest on PS3 LOADS of europeans myself included wont bother paying £31.99 for Awakening so this will hopefully force em to lower the price as far as i know very few people have bought the game for that price

this is sad. Well, in that case I´ll just pass on Awakening and maybe buy a GOTY edition when it costs just a few dollars on eBay.
