Hi. There seem to be many threads about how the Journal is faulty, but that doesn't explain why the game crashes the moment I choose which target to save.

I kill the bad guys, activate the terminal, select and click on the target I want to save, the choice screen goes away.... and the game freezes. I am back in 3rd person with no change to the terminal's monitors, but more significantly with no game response to my mouse or keyboard.

Lets cover my specs: Intel P4 3GHz single core, Windows XP SP3, 4Gb of DDR2 RAM and a GeForce 8600 GTS 512Mb graphics card.

N.B. I have played the game through once already without any errors, not one (well apart from a certain power cell hungry mining mech that slid instead of walked), but never done this mission before. [Thoroughly enjoyed Cain-KOing two Reapers by the way.]

I was able to start menu and end application my way out of the game, but that doesn't get me back to the Normandy. I have tried restarting both machine and game to get past this... without success.

Is there a fix for this... perhaps a console command or something to get back to the ship? If so it'd be nice to be able to trick the game into believing I've saved my target of choice. I haven't checked if I have a save before this mission... decided to create this topic before going back into to the game. If not and this can't be fixed... I'm going to be rather :crying: as I haven't Cain-ed anything with my ME1 imported character yet.

Thanks for any help.

I am having the exact same problem.

Game crashes after selecting target to save from missile. Also, just like you, I had played the game through once without any crashes. The first time I played with new character, but am now using an imported ME1 character. I have been experiencing a lot of random crashes (GPFs) using imported character besides this repeatable crash (freeze).

Well I've finished everything else... only 3 missions left now.. Cain something, Missionary work and Suicide. I hope this problem can be figured out before the last cos I'd like to complete the game having stopped one of the missiles. Seems rather out of character for my Shepard to ignore a colony in distress.

Hmm... Same thing happens to me after all bad guys are killed and whether I choose, choice 1 or 2. I'm running this on Windows 7. Like you I don't have too many missions to go. I was just searching through systems/planets I hadn't been to yet and scored the mission. I'm thinking of giving the mission a miss and moving on. Not real happy about it.

Try this... In each of my previous attempts for this mission I loaded from a save game at commencement of mission. Team members are Mordin/Samara - Game crashes in this scenario once all objectives are complete. I have re-started the mission with Mordin/Zaeed as the team and it played right through without a problem. Not sure whether changing team members or re-starting the mission fixed the problem. Hope this works for you.

I can verify that BI51's latest post is correct. I was able to restart the mission from an auto-save, chose Zaeed/Mordin, and was able to play through it the second time without the game crashing. Thanks for the tip.

Seems this issue is still unresolved. I have just played the mission several times to only be frozen after choosing to save the Capital. Can't be a coincidence that I was also using Mordin/Samara squad. :/
I'm on my umpteenth playthrough and this is the first time I've had this problem. First time playing on insanity mode though. Not sure if that contributes.
