So its Saturday night, and I'm enjoying my day off. Watching movies, playing videogames, plotting ways to get Uwe Boll to leave the planet, you know, the usual. Then comes a knock at the door.

I answer it, and there's a guy I don't know looking at me. He's a rather seedy looking fellow, and some of the other tenants in the building are a bit disreputable, so I'm not exactly overjoyed.

"I'm looking for Mike," says he.

Unfortunately, that is my name. It is a common name, though, so I'm hoping he is looking for someone else.

"What is his last name?" I question him.

"I don't know."

So, I take my life in my hands.

"My name is Mike," I reluctantly admit.

"The Mike I'm looking for lives downstairs."

/sigh

I feel your pain. I used to be the middle tenant in a tri-plex with very seedy neighbors. One of them was obviously a dealer of sorts and I would often get knocks on my door that were meant for him. Some of the responses I got were, "Do you know if the neighbor is home?" Well why don't you go try and knock on his door and not mine! Or, "Can I wait here for the neighbor to come home?" Ummm, no!

I got so sick and tired of it that I basically threatened to beat anyone that came to my door looking for the neighbor. I'm 6'3" and 350 lbs, so they got the point pretty quickly. After a couple weeks of threats the people stopped bothering me.

a nice loud chambering of a round in a 12ga shotgun always works too lol. I stopped having problems with gangsta thug wannabe dealer types in my old neighborhood after an incident at 3am, they were just "chillin" in the middle of the street with one of their cars beating bass out loud as hell, there was probably 10 or 11 of them outside, they kept throwing punches at eachother, threatening eachother so on and so forth, so I go outside, shine my flashlight at them to get their attention, I say, very politely "it's 3am, turn the music off, take it to your driveway, garage or house, please", the response was **** you white boy, get your vanilla ass inside before we **** you up. So I said "ok, we'll do it your way", opened my the OH **** locker, put on my trust IBA vest, broke out my M14, went outside and before I could even chamber a round, they scattered, lol. Never had a problem again.

I could get one easily (and legaly) here and I´m not even a citizen. As long as it does not fire in full auto; it´s ok.

I´d go for buckshoot, but that´s a different thing.

Operative, you and I have the same way of dealing with things. The law here prevents me form keeping my firearms at home, but a warning shot from a crossbow with an incendiary bolt is a very good deterrent for the dealers, addicts and general annoyances that insist on wandering around my neighbourhood.

Uh I used to be in the Army, Airborne out of Bragg, I never took my "M4 or M249" home, that's against regs and really not worth it, I bought my M14 from Springfield had it shipped to a gun shop. You do know you can buy, M16(A2,A4), M4's, M14's, M21's, M40's, hell I can go to a gun store 20 minutes from here and buy a .50 cal semi-auto rifle. It's not illegal, it may be a year or so from now, but at the moment high powered rifles and assault rifles are legal.

Well the reality of that type of person is they typically are too much of a p***y to do anything especially when someone shows them that they do not fear them. But even still I was at least cautious enough to wear an IBA vest I got from a pawn shop at Bragg. On a side not I doubt holding their 9's cocked to the side would render any effective shots.

As long as you pay the brutal amount of taxes involved, yes; it´s legal. You know that a class 3 is not what the average shooter has. :D

I wish I could afford a G36 but I have other more important stuff to put my money in.

Lol I know, really there is no point to a class 3 unless you have extra curricular type of activities or a PMC type of career field.

Fully auto in my opinion is overrated I seldom fired more than a short burst at a time from my 249 during OEF, it's a waste of ammo just spraying as many rounds in one direction as possible, plus you're more likely to neutralize a target rather than just suppressing by using short controlled bursts. I never used burst on my m4 either, less jams, and again better accuracy.

We have younger kids at home, and while hubby has sharpshooter, he's in a medical MOS so they don't shoot often enough, and I've never handled a gun, so neither of us feel OK about having guns in our home. We live in a state that does a lot of hunting so we know tons of people who do have guns/rifles at home, but it's just not our thing. We do, however, have a couple swords in the house, since we're involved in Medieval/Renaissance re-enactment, and we know how to use them, but bullets still trump swords any day. :)

What kind of swords, Jae?

I´m not a great fan of Middle-Ages stuff, but I still own some weapons from that time. I´m more into Roman/Celtiberian/Greek stuff. =]

Yeah I hear ya, when my brothers kids arent staying with me, I have easy access to any and all firearms, but I'm not a ****** when it comes to safety, My nephew has shot with us several of times and between me and my brother he acts like range cadre always clears the weapon properly, never under any circumstance points at anybody, but even then safety is important when children and young adults are involved with such things.

lol yeah I remember during inprocessing at Bragg, all combat MOS personnel had a ton of gear to draw from CIF and medical MOS personnel had less than half a duffel bag of gear lol. Personally I think all units and all MOS's should have extensive range time, and combat training, because you never know right?

Ours are reproductions.  I have a schlager and a foil, and hubby has a Viking broadsword.

I´m more into heavy blades, such as grosse messer, falcatas, spatae, kopis, xyphos and so on.

Yours have basicaly what was heavily used during XVI and XVII centuries. Not bad choices at all and from that time, some day Í´ll get a "vizcaina"

Ok well I am going to try to get back on topic here.

I was playing and MMO and someone had their Mic open, all we hear is a loud knock on the door asking for so and so. We hear is sister in the background say " Yes he is at the computer". a few seconds this conversation ensues

" Are you so and so" - mystery person

" Yes" gamer

" We have a warrant for your arrest" - cop

" Ohhh Damn" in a sad voice - gamer

Then his sister gets on the mic and says

" Hey my brother just got arrested, let me log him out and log over to my character and I will help finish whatever you guys are working on".

MMO gaming gold.

At least your group got a good deal out of the unexpected swap. This definitely ranks up there as one of the weirdest gaming stories I've read.
