For anyone who has not bought this game, if you are even slightly a RGP fan, pick this up. The story is great, the mature themes are nice for a change (although the blood splatter is a tad over doing it), and the combat is fantastic.
Many reviews already up, so I won't repeat what is said elsewhere, but to bite back on two common complaints that tend to pop up from other players/reviewers:
-The graphics suck/could be better:
For those who say the graphics aren't as good as Oblivon, exactly how many enemies and characters do you see on screen at a time there? Even fully modded it was rare thru my adventures in Obilvon to be faced with more than 3-4 enemies at once. In Dragon Age you have full blown mobs that come after you, and as well you have a party yourself. Not to give any plot away, but the battle scene early on, go back and watch that one more time and remember that yes that is real time, and yes you are seeing dozens and dozens of monsters and people on screen at once. The individual actors yes are not as detailed as Oblivon, but damn man they are still pretty good in their own right, and again you have so many on screen at once.
-Game is too hard, combat is frustrating:
I agree, espically in the beginning, that Normal difficulty can be quite the challange if your not a healer character. Once you gain a few levels however it gets much more balanced once you have more poweful abilities and stats to back yourself up. There is of course already easy mode, which despite being easy is not "God Mode". I have one char going thru on easy, and another on normal, so I can spot the differences in combat. It really does even out after the initial bit, stick with it. Besides challange is a good thing, and this is no where near the die/load fest that BG was back in the day. As well it's not the rest button cheat party that was NWN either
Combat is fun, tactical is fun.
GG Bioware, the game is solid
