I apologize if this has been posted on before, but this is a significant issue from me and I was wondering if anyone else had a similiar experience.
I frequently have an issue where the game takes a lengthy amount of time to register that a creature has died and then note that it has satisfied a quest requirement and/or spawn the loot. This frequently happens with Drakes (In the caves leading up to the Temple of the Urn of Sacred Ashes, I can often sit around for a minute waiting for a drake corpse to be lootable) and in the Fade - it can take almost a minute for a dead "boss" to be registered in my quest log and open up path ways to other parts of the Fade. (When sent there by the Sloth Demon in the Circle Tower).
This issue, of course, pops up elsewhere and seems to get worse as the game goes on. Any ideas?

I believe this is a symptom of memory leakage over a prolonged period. Save your game, exit DAO, and restart. The problem should clear up (for a while, at least).

I suspected that was it. I need to stop these 12 hour marathon sessions!

Yes, it is a common bug. I usually kill them, go around to check for chests and when i come back they "should" be lootavailable.

Easily fixed, sign out of the game and back to the 360 menu, then get back to playing!

One other thing that's been working for me is to use a spell/ability that drains the dead body's energy, like Devour for Reavers, or mage spells that drain energy for health/mana, even animate dead works for human bodies. This seems to help since it turns the body into a pile of bones and usually becomes lootable right away.
