Is it possible to have both the Revenant and the Widow in the same playthrough as a soldier?

I'm asking because let's say for argument I chose the Revenant LMG AR as my weapon choice at the end of the Collector Ship mission. 

Can I then also query Legion later about upgrades and research/manufacture the Widow SR?

It would seem then that the answer is "yes."   But is that correct?

Unfortunately not.

You can get the Widow, but only for Legion, as you can only get the Claymore Shotgun for Grunt, unless you pick it up in the Collector Ship.

once upon the collector ship you have a choice to get either a kickass variant of of whatever weapon types you are proficient in, or weapon training for those you are untrained in.
